Aprilia starts manufacturing its new RS 457

The final stages of 2023 brought us such attractive news as the new Aprilia RS 457, which is positioned as the new sports entry to the Noale range. With it, the transalpine firm offers us a light and effective motorcycle, in short, a true “pilot school.”

Now the brand has announced the start of production of the model at the plant owned by the Piaggio Group in Baramati, India. It has also marked a date on the calendar as the start of the distribution and delivery of the first units, the March 1st.

Aprilia RS 457 2024 all the details

As we have learned from the colleagues of the local media Bikewale, its initial price in the Asian country will be Rs. 4.10 lakh, which translated into euros, translates into about 4,500 euros. Undoubtedly, this rate will increase exponentially once the brand begins its export to our continent.

Taking into account that one of its main rivals in the Indian market is the Yamaha YZF-R3 and that its price there is the equivalent of about 5,100 euros, for the 6,799 euros that it costs in our country, we can apply a simple rule of three to be able to approximate its official price in Europe.

As a result, Yamaha’s sports frame is currently 12% more expensive than the new Aprilia, so on paper the RS 457 should be around 5,980 eurosor what is the same, a price below that of other competitors such as the Kawasaki Ninja 400 or the RC 390 from KTM.

In exchange for these approximately 6,000 euros, Aprilia offers us with its RS 457 a mount with an ideal weight/power ratio that makes it easier for us to handle. This comes equipped with a latest generation parallel twin-cylinder engine, liquid cooling, double camshaft distribution and four valves per cylinder, which delivers 47 HP of power.

The brand declares an official weight of 175 kilograms in running order thanks, among other things, to the adoption of a rigid aluminum chassis, with the engine acting as a supporting element. In addition, it has top-level equipment, where we highlight:

  • 41mm inverted fork
  • 320 mm front disc with 4-piston caliper
  • Two-channel ABS system with double use map
  • Ride by Wire System
  • Three driving modes
  • 5-inch color TFT instrument cluster
  • Full-LED lighting, etc.
