If there is a segment that is going to grow in the coming years, it is that of high performance electric. There are more and more models with this technology that aim to be sporty and they achieve this by exceeding a thousand horsepower, since their weight is still quite high. The latest model to join this club of extremely powerful electric cars is the Mullen Five RS. It is a crossover from an American firm, which is about to celebrate its first decade of life and which is also currently controlled by Bollinger.
This new model It is a sporty variant of the Five, which was already on sale in the United States. What they have done is integrate a much more capable propulsion system, made up of two motors located on the front and rear axles, to achieve all-wheel drive. They combine to achieve 1,014 HP and 1,151 Nm of torque, in addition to outstanding benefits. They claim that 0 to 100 km/h will be around 2 seconds and that its maximum speed will reach 322 km/h. It does this thanks to a two-speed gearbox, similar to the one found in the Porsche Taycan.
In addition, the Mullen Five RS has a 100 kWh batteryability, enough to allow it to approve an electric range of 483 kilometers. It is somewhat less than the “non-RS” Five, but understandable for a high-performance variant. In addition, with its 800 V architecture, it is capable of reaching 80% of its charge in just 20 minutes. All this, without forgetting that it is a fairly large model. Has a length 4,902 mm, a width of 2,032 mm and a height of 1,626 mm; in addition to a battle of 2,946 mm.
Some could not be missed aesthetic modifications to differentiate the Five RS from the rest of the brand. The front grill and the air intakes are striking, since so many cooling facilities are not necessary in electric cars. It also has 21-inch wheels at the front and 20 inches at the rear, shod with high-performance tires and also with Brembo brake calipers with six pistons on the front axle and four at the rear, which bite about carbon ceramic brake discs.
In the cabin you can see sport seats with mixed Nubuck leather and Alcantara upholstery, which have a carbon fiber shell, matching other interior trim. Technology is not far behind and even has a personal assistant that works with artificial intelligence. The Mullen Five RS has been announced for the end of 2025, at that moment will be when we know all its details. Sales are expected to begin as early as 2026.
