The new Mavrick 440 has the name of a legendary pilot, a retro look and ideal features to take you anywhere

Hero MotoCorp targets the medium-displacement single-cylinder segment with its new Mavrick 440, developed in the image and likeness of its sister, the Harley-Davidson X440. In this way, this partnership between both companies is consolidated, in force since they announced their collaboration agreement in 2020.

With the new Mavrick 440 the objective is clear: to try to attract the largest number of customers who currently opt for one of the Royal Enfield frames. Now it remains to be seen if the Indian company lives up to expectations, although there is nothing to doubt the opposite considering the model on which this Mavrick 440 is based.

Hero Mavrick 440 in detail

As we already detailed last July after the presentation of the Harley-Davidson X440, the new Hero mount replicates many of the components that its Yankee sister sports.

This translates into equipping the 440cc TorqX single cylinder air-cooled and powered by an electronic injection system. This is associated with a six-speed transmission assisted by a slipper clutch.

With some internal dimensions 79.6mm x 88.4mmdeclares a maximum power of 27 HP at 6,000 rpm and 36 Nm of torque at 4,000 revolutions. Likewise, we find a cycle part where there is a common denominator, a tubular steel chassis and a pair of lateral shock absorbers in the rear suspension.

However, the Mavrick 440 equips a conventional telescopic fork on its front, unlike the inverted one found on the X440. With three types of finish; Base, Mid or Top, we can have radial or alloy wheels, depending on the version. In any case, they all come in a 17” size and a pair of brake discs are anchored to them, one per axle.

Other aspects to highlight of the Mavrick 440 are, for example, having 13.5 liters of capacity in your fuel tank. The brand announces total levels of 2,100mm x 868mm x 1,112mm(length, width and height) with a distance between axles of 1,388mm and a seat located 803mm ground.

Hero declares a final weight of 187kg in the versions equipped with alloy wheels and 191 kg if we opt for the access variant with radial type wheels. Available in up to 5 color schemes, spread across its three equipment versions, prices for the model are not yet known. Mavrick 440 in any of its variants.
