There is no longer any doubt, Kawasaki Versys 1100 The new model is currently undergoing approval by the Australian Transport Authority and will soon be presented to the public. The first images of the new model, published by the German media Motorrad Online, give us a first idea of what we can expect from it and what the main changes are compared to the current variant. Versys 1000 2024.
Under the internal code KLZ1100BThe new Versys 1100 is more of an update of the 1000 version that is still on the market than a completely new model in itself. Based on these first images, we can confirm that, externally, there are no significant changes. We would even dare to say that, with the exception of the colour scheme, the silhouette of the model remains unchanged.
Kawasaki Versys 1100 2025: Mechanical update and little else
Under a livery that soberly mixes black, grey, silver and Kawasaki green, the Versys 1100 remains faithful to its well-known style. What does change, essentially, is its updated mechanics which, according to homologation data, now has a maximum displacement of 1.099 ccThis is probably possible due to the increase in its internal diameter. from the current 77 mm to a new 79 mm. On the other hand, the stroke would remain unchanged, with the current 56 mm.
The final result of this increase in displacement translates into a final power of about 135 HP at 9,000 rpmThe maximum torque it will offer is not yet official, although the final figure is sure to be above the current 102 Nm at 7,500 rpm.
Another relevant fact about this Versys 1100 is the significant weight reduction declared by Kawasaki. We now have a motorcycle that, in running order, weighs in at 1100 pounds. 241 kilograms12 less than the approved version 1000.
This figure seems to us to be a very large difference, considering that the overall appearance of the Versys 1100 is practically no different from the current model. Therefore, we will leave the figure in the air, pending confirmation from the brand itself.
The rest of the assembly remains unchanged a priori, maintaining the 17” wheels with road tires, inverted front fork, horizontal rear shock absorber or braking composed of double semi-floating 310 mm lobed discs on its front axle.
We also don’t know if the Versys 1100 will be offered in different trim levels at the start. Currently we have up to three variants of the model: Standard, S and SEall of them also with different optional equipment packages. Another recurring question about the arrival of the Versys 1100 is whether the brand will apply this same evolution policy to other models in its range.
Among them there is the possibility that we can count on new variants under the name 1100 next season. For example, Una Ninja 1100 SX, Z 1100 or Z 1100 RS.
Having said all this, it seems that Kawasaki will not propose, for the moment, a Hybrid Versys or the expected Kawasaki Versys H2 of 200 HP and 137 Nm that, at the beginning of the year, the virtual designer pulled out of the hat. Kar Lee.
