Hero MotoCorp continues to show us its full potential under its young electric vehicle subsidiary brand, Vida. The images from the patent registration of the future Ubex show how advanced the project is and how it can become the main platform on which a complete range of models is built.
All this without forgetting Hero’s VxZ Project, its electric vehicle in collaboration with Zero, which has also recently been patented. A frame that would usher in a new era within the Indian company, also in a completely autonomous way and building from scratch a model that is especially adapted to the needs and tastes of the Asian markets.
Ubex Life: What we know
In any case, focusing on the new images of the next Hero Vida Ubex, we can see how, being a model initially focused on citizen use, it would have a sporty aesthetic based on a state-of-the-art naked design. Likewise, as Rush Lane’s colleagues confirm, the Ubex looks “a sporty front end with a monochromatic headlight and LED daytime running lights (DRL) above and below.”
Now, taking into account the details offered by the initial concept of the model, presented by the brand at the last Milan Motor Show, we can practically assume that the images leaked from the patent registry show us a model almost ready for production. Key aspects such as having a flashing system or mounting a conventional front fork, instead of the inverted type that was fitted to the display unit, confirm this theory.
In the rest of the assembly (tires, driving position, rear section, etc.), no relevant changes are observed with respect to the concept itself. In this section we can highlight the 17″ alloy wheels, the two-height seat with handles for the passenger or a rear swing arm made from a tubular steel structure. Both the battery pack and the electric motor continue to be maintained in the same central position.
Finally, let us remember that the future Ubex would be comparable to another internal combustion engine with a displacement of approximately 200 cc and should offer an average range of approximately 200 kilometers. It is very likely that the final version will be ready before the end of this year and will later begin marketing in India and surrounding Asian markets.
