From Germany come new details about an electric motorcycle that is being developed in Spain and that aspires to carve out an important niche in the European market this year. It is about the BBM Hiroa project born in the Basque Country that combines classic design, advanced technical solutions and data on paper that strongly attracts attention. By the way, we already talked to you about her a while ago.
The BBM Hiro It is the first model of Brothers Motorcycles Barsa firm founded by Guillaume brothers and Benoit Barras near Bilbao. After a previous stage focused on the creation of personalized motorcycles under the brand Angry Lanethe new direction of BBM focuses squarely on the development of electric motorcycles.
According to the information published, the brand has also received technical advice from the Belgian pioneers of Sarolea in the field of high-performance electric mobility.
This is the BBM Hiro
The approach of the hiro It is that of a naked with a reinterpreted classic aesthetic, with spoked wheels and chain final drive, but powered by a liquid-cooled electric motor. This is located coaxially on the swingarm axis, a solution that allows the chain tension to be kept constant and improves mass distribution, something key in a high-performance electric motorcycle.
In the mechanical section, BBM declares a maximum power of 94 hp and a torque of up to 150 Nm. However, the continuous power is limited to 48 hpwhich would allow its homologation for the A2 license in Europe, a particularly relevant point for the Spanish market.
Without a gearbox, acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is estimated in 3.5 seconds and the announced maximum speed reaches 190 km/h. Both traction control and regenerative braking are adjustable and can be completely disabled.
The lithium-ion battery, integrated into an aluminum casing and placed centrally to optimize the balance of the assembly, works at 360 volts and offers an approximate capacity of 13 kWh. With these values, the maximum autonomy is around 225 km.
Particularly striking are the charging times: with a compatible fast charging point, the battery could reach 80% in just 15 minutes. Using the integrated 6.6 kW charger and a conventional outlet, that same percentage is achieved in about 2 hours and 40 minutes.
The chassis is supported by a multi-tubular chrome-molybdenum steel chassis, with a bolted rear subframe and aluminum swingarm. The rear suspension uses a directly anchored central shock absorber, while the front mounts an inverted fork with a steering angle of 66º, clearly oriented towards sporty driving. The tires Excel They wear 120/70 ZR 17 tires at the front and 180/55 ZR 17 at the rear, presumably Michelin Road, and the braking system is equipped with calipers. Brembo with double front disc, rear disc and disconnectable ABS.
Another of the most notable data is the tare weight, of only 200 kg in running order, a very contained figure for an electric motorcycle of this level of performance. The seat height remains at 79 cm, which reinforces its accessible nature for a wide profile of users.
According to information provided in Germany, the BBM Hiro will hit the market in July 2026 with an estimated starting price of 16,900 euros. It will be available in four variants (Roadster, Streetfighter, Café Racer and Scrambler) and will offer extensive customization options, an aspect in which the brothers’ previous experience Bars can make a difference.
If the announced figures are confirmed in production, the hiro It could become one of the most interesting electric motorcycles developed in Spain in the coming years. Without a doubt, good news.
