Acciona announces the construction of the largest electric station on the M-30

Acciona has won the contract, awarded by the Community of Madrid, for the construction and operation of the largest 100% public electric station renewable within the M-30. It will have a total power of 4,000 kilowatts and the installation is expected to be completed and operational in 2027.

With this project, the company reinforces its role as a key player in the electrification of urban transport and in the creation of infrastructures that combine technological innovation, environmental sustainability and social value, anticipating the city model of the future. Currently it already offers access to more than 5,000 charging points in urban environments and in the main interurban corridors in Spain and Portugal.

Acciona electric station in detail

As reported by the company, the future electric station will have 20 ultra-fast charging spaces of up to 400 kW (19 for passenger cars and one for heavy vehicles) and a station for exchanging batteries for Silence electric vehicles. The latter has been consolidated as the electric vehicle brand of the Spanish business group since the beginning of 2021.

Currently, Silence markets its recent S01 and S02 and has a commercial network that is gradually expanding throughout the main capitals of the European continent. That is why citizens residing in the area will be able to enjoy the advantages that the future Acciona electric station will offer them. This will have a plot, 1,281 square meters, located in the Paseo de la Castellana 276.

We are talking about one of the most strategic enclaves of the capital, in front of the Cuatro Torres and within the scope of the future development of Madrid Nuevo Norte. The project will transform an old disused gas station into a new generation electric mobility infrastructure, conceived not only as a charging point, but as an open, accessible urban space aligned with the objectives of decarbonization and improving the quality of life in the city.

The facility, which will be operated by Acciona for 30 yearswill use 100% certified renewable energy in all recharges. Likewise, it will incorporate an energy system with solar panels for self-consumption, achieving not only self-sufficiency, but also generating an annual net surplus of more than 35,000 kWh. It will also incorporate a photocatalytic façade that actively eliminates pollutants and purifies the air, and a real-time traceability system for renewable energy.

Designed as a “mobility house”, the new electric station will integrate the charging points and a user services area under a large unitary canopy. The building will include a vending and accessible toilets on the ground floor, as well as a multipurpose space on the first floor intended for the dissemination and celebration of events linked to electric mobility, reinforcing its public and educational vocation.

The project stands out for its strong environmental and architectural component, with a design that relies on sustainable and low-impact materials, such as wood, photocatalytic ceramics and natural stone of local origin.
