Doremi Collection It is a true institution among Japanese trainers. With Hiroshi Take at the head, owner and founder of the company, offer a wide assortment of accessories and kits “retro styling” with which to give an even more vintage look to the beautiful and personal Kawasaki Z900RS. The idea is to be able to make it look like the legendary Z1 or Z1000 MkII.
Z900RS kits by Doremi Collection in detail
It was back in 2017 when we first noticed one of these retro-style kits for Z900RS made by Doremi Collection. Already then, the Japanese coach offered us the first glimpses of what was to come in the following years. From a quadruple exhaust outlet with a design similar to that fitted on the original Z1, to a tail in the purest Z2 style or a turn signal and pilot kit very much in line with Kawasaki’s seventies models.
Currently, Doremi Collection has two independent kits with which to transform the image of the Z900RS into one very similar to that of a Z1 or, failing that, the Z1000 MkII. To do this, it makes available to its customers a compilation of accessories ranging from the fuel tank to a complete bodywork. In addition, they give us the option of being able to purchase them already painted or “virgin” to apply the decoration that we see fit.
Likewise, we can complement them with other accessories that the Japanese specialist has in its list of options; seat with specific upholstery, retro-style fenders or the matching rear handle would be among them. If this is not enough, Doremi Collection has prepared a final surprise for us, since it also has different exhaust systems in line with the chosen kit.
There is even more, since we cannot fail to review the pair of side shock absorbers, in the purest retro style, which we can also include in our selection. The problem is that these do not have their own function in the frames of the time, that is, cushioning. This happens because they are anchored to the upper part of the subframe and… to the footpegs. An unfortunate detail considering the level of finish of these kits, but above all the prices.
About the latter; we will have to pay between 1,800 and 2,500 euros for the aforementioned kits of bodywork, depending on whether we want them completely finished and ready to assemble or we prefer to be the ones who give it the final touch in the form of a color scheme. We must also add the amount involved in deciding on one of the exhaust systems, with rates ranging between 1,000 and 1,850 euros, depending on whether we decide on the image of the Z1 or the Z1000 MkII.
That is why having to shell out around 170 euros for the pair of “fake” shock absorbers seems strange to say the least. In any case, both to check the prices of each and every one of the accessories that Doremi Collection has created for Z900RS, and to decide on one of these kits, you can go directly to its official website.
