Two and a half years have passed since Royal Enfield opened a new chapter in its history with Flying Flea, its new brand of electric vehicles, until it finally put its first model on sale, the C6. A time in which meticulous development has been carried out that culminates with the launch in India of this classic style frame, although loaded with innovation and new technologies.
The Flying Flea C6 now on sale
Recently, a local dealership of the brand located in Jayanagar, Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, launched the first “probe balloon” on the subject on one of its main social networks. Then he warned the brand’s followers that the time was approaching when Flying Flea would announce the price of the new C6. A fact that just a few days has ended up becoming a reality.
Now we know that the Flying Flea C6 has a starting price of 279,000 rupees, 2,541 euros at the exchange rateand that we can configure it in two different color schemes: Flea Green and Storm Black. The first official data of the model have also been made public where the brand announces, among others, a maximum autonomy of 154 kilometers or a top speed of 115km/h.
Likewise, this Flying Flea C6 equips an air-cooled lithium-ion battery with 3.91 kWh capacitythe same one that we can recharge from 20% to 80% in just one hour. Its permanent magnet synchronous motor sends power to the rear wheel through a toothed belt.
Specifically 15.4kWa figure more than enough to move the 124 kilos which declares the set empty. In fact, it manages to accelerate from 0-60 km/h in 3.7 seconds. Other data of special interest in the new Flying Flea C6 would be:
- 19” wheels on both axles
- Double beam link type front hydraulic suspension
- Rear monoshock
- 260 mm front and 240 mm rear brake disc, etc.
As for the main equipment that the Flying Flea C6 has, the ABS system with tilt angle sensor (dual channel, switchable rear ABS), traction control with tilt angle detection, a button to share my status and location with remote rollover alert or a 3.5” full-color TFT screen as an instrument panel stands out.
It is not yet clear when the model will go on sale outside of India. The brand is working on the development of logistics that allows the marketing and subsequent after-sales service of its new Flying Flea C6. Until then we will remain attentive to possible developments regarding this topic.
