Sling has officially opened its new motorcycle production factory in Türkiye. Specifically in Aliaga, Izmirmarking a significant milestone in the company’s long-term commitment to the country. Operated by Honda Türkiye AS, the new facility is the brand’s 38th motorcycle production plant globally and has been created to respond to the rapid growth of the motorcycle market in the country.
According to the latest reports on the sector, the demand for personal mobility and commercial applications, such as delivery services, has increased significantly in recent years. Türkiye has become one of the key growth markets for Honda. In 2025, the brand reached the first position in the market for the eleventh consecutive year.
The new Honda plant and its environmental commitment
Production began last April, with an initial annual capacity of 100,000 motorcycles and the possibility of expanding this figure up to 200,000 units in the future. The facility is expected to generate around 300 direct jobs, contributing to the economic development of the Izmir region.
Designed in accordance with the Japanese firm’s global manufacturing standards, the Aliağa plant will focus on three fundamental pillars: quality, efficiency and flexibility. It will allow the company to supply the country with motorcycles, while strengthening local production capabilities and supply chains.
The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of Honda Motor Europe, Honda Türkiye management, public institutions, local authorities and business partners, highlighting the strong cooperation between Honda and the region. Hans de Jaegerpresident and director of Honda Motor Europe, stated:
“The start of production at the Honda Türkiye motorcycle factory is a clear expression of our confidence in the market, its importance to our global business and our commitment to long-term cooperation and prosperity. We sincerely believe that this facility will make important contributions to both Honda’s global production network and Turkey’s industrial development, employment and sustainable growth goals.”
For its part, Satoru YamadaPresident of Honda Türkiye AS, said: “This production facility, which we have established in Aliağa, Izmir, is a clear expression of Honda’s firm confidence in Turkey, its long-term vision and the close and trusting relationship we have built here over many years. For us, the true measure of success is not based solely on financial figures, but on creating an impact that reaches society and adds value to people’s lives.”
The facility occupies a total area of 100,000 square metersof which 45,000 square meters correspond to interior spaces, and will play a significant economic and business role in the area. Additionally, the new Aliağa motorcycle production facility has been designed with a strong focus on environmental responsibility, in line with Honda’s global Environmental Vision.
Honda Türkiye also continues to contribute to society through social responsibility initiatives, which include road safety education programs and tree planting projects aimed at reforesting areas affected by forest fires. For its part, the company further advances its strategy of localized manufacturing, sustainable growth and provision of mobility solutions that support daily life and business activity in Europe and beyond.
