Strategic boost to road safety
The motorcycle industry promotes the improvement of road safety through the development of new active and passive safety technologies integrated into both vehicles and rider equipment.
Within this framework, ANESDOR is working on a specific strategy regarding airbags for motorcyclists from its Protective Equipment Commission. This Commission favors collaboration between manufacturers to coordinate technical criteria and to provide accurate and understandable information to users and administrations.
ANESDOR’s commitment to motorcyclist protection is reinforced through its Vive la Moto platform, from which informative campaigns, practical demonstrations and training actions are developed to promote road safety for motorcyclists.
The use of appropriate equipment, including airbags, is fully integrated into this preventive approach as a key measure. Along these lines, and in collaboration with the General Directorate of Traffic (DGT), ANESDOR has launched an information portal, which offers:
- The Airbag Technical Recommendations Guide, which explains the different types of systems, their characteristics and the criteria for choosing a legal and safe airbag.
- An updated catalog of airbags that meet legal requirements, allowing motorists to check whether the brand and model they wish to purchase has the corresponding certification.
- Recommendations and training content to help users make informed decisions about protection and security.
This portal has become a key tool for disseminating reliable, verified and updated information about this technology, promoting its adoption among motorists and supporting institutional work to improve road safety.
