Tamarit Motorcycles is risking victory with “Miura”: a Triumph Scrambler 400 XC transformed to compete

Tamarit Motorcyclesthe renowned specialist in the preparation of Triumph motorcycles based in Elche, signs the Spanish proposal for the second edition of the Triumph Originals contest. In this prestigious international competition, in which trainers from seven countries participate, the Alicante firm presents “Miura”. With twelve years of experience, more than 200 projects carried out and works marketed in more than 40 countriesthose from Alicante take on the challenge of representing Spain by fusing engineering, craftsmanship and competition DNA.

Developed to bring the capabilities of the stock motorcycle to the most demanding off-road field, this creation, reduces the weight of the set by 25 kg and completely modifies its geometries and ergonomics. An extreme interpretation designed for high dirt competition of the Triumph Scrambler 400 XC.

“Miura”: one team, one goal

The Triumph Originals competition brings together the best talents in global customization to reinterpret the personality of the British brand’s iconic Scrambler model. In this context “Miura” was born months before our recent football success in the World Cup, inspired by the values of teamwork, ambition and collective commitment of the Spanish National Team.

This energy is translated into a visual language dominated by the colors and contrasts of the national team, topped by two stars that underline the tribute to Spanish sport without losing Tamarit’s own sophisticated and aggressive identity. Beyond the sporting result, “Miura” celebrates an idea that the firm shares: a team becomes a benchmark when all the people who make it up work towards the same goal, a work philosophy that perfectly defines both Triumph and Tamarit Motorcycles.

The technique: in search of absolute effectiveness

Based on the 400cc TR-Series single-cylinder engine, which retains its 40 HP and 37.5 Nm of maximum torque at 6,500 rpm, the Tamarit team proposed a preparation aimed at absolute efficiency on the track and trails. The result is a scale that reads 155 kg dry, which represents a saving of close to 25 kg compared to the standard model.

To achieve this notable weight reduction in key areas, the original instrumentation and electronics that are dispensable in sports use have been eliminated. The intervention includes lightweight aluminum components, a new, more direct exhaust line and a subframe redesigned from the ground up that reduces the weight of the rear part by half, crowned by an aluminum rear fender made entirely by hand.

A cycle part according to the project philosophy

The dynamic behavior of the Scrambler 400 XC has been reconfigured to offer stability, traction and predictability on mud, fast tracks and broken terrain. The steering geometry has been radically modified: the launch angle goes from 23.1° to 25.5°, the trail increases from 108 to 125 mm and the wheelbase is extended from 1,418 to 1,450 mm.

In the cycle part section, the Scrambler ‘Miura’ adopts a series of solutions that make the difference:

  • Wheels and tires: Excel Takasago spoked wheels measuring 21 inches at the front and 18 inches at the rear, fitted with pure off-road tires. The make and model of the tires have not been specified.
  • Braking: 305 mm Brembo floating front disc and two-piston Nissin floating caliper, a configuration aimed at touch, control and dosage in off-road driving.
  • Suspensions: WP set developed specifically for ‘Miura’ from Triumph Tiger 800 components. Springs and valves have been adapted to the new weight, geometry and use, the travel goes from 150 to 210 mm at the front and reaches 205 mm at the rear.

Tailored off-road ergonomics

The driving position of the “Miura” seeks maximum control in standing piloting. The tank has been raised and advanced by 25 mm, combined with a narrower enduro single-seater seat, a field-grade aluminum handlebar (which reduces more than a kilogram in the front axle) and large-area serrated footpegs.

The intake and air filters have been adapted to environments with high levels of dust, while the front fairing integrates a minimalist racing headlight with specific fork protectors and chain guards. In short, with “Miura”, Tamarit Motorcycles signs one of its most ambitious transformations: a Scrambler 400 XC freed from superfluity, lighter, more stable and prepared to compete and jump.
