Sena Vortex: designed to go unnoticed
They explain from Sena at the official launch of Vortex that “On a motorcycle, the intercom must be easy to use, without forcing you to take your eyes off the road”. In this context, its new Quick Pair button, dedicated entirely to pairing, allows you to start the connection between two intercoms with a single press, without having to hold it down or perform a sequence of commands.
Once the devices are paired, the rider and his passenger can communicate directly. Between two motorcyclists traveling together, the range can reach 1.2 km. “Many motorcyclists travel mainly with a passenger or a single riding companion. With Vortex, we wanted to allow them to stay in touch in a simple way, with an intercom that is easy to connect and goes unnoticed once on the road”he states Vlada BokzaHead of Motorcycle Marketing at SENA Europe.
The Vortex’s five clearly separated buttons are easy to identify and operate with gloves, without complex key combinations. With up to 27 hours of talk time, it allows you to make several trips without recharging. Its magnetic attachment allows you to replace the main unit in a few seconds and then remove it to place it directly on a Qi-compatible wireless charger.
Adjustments and updates are made from the Sena Motorcycles application, without the need to connect to a computer. On the other hand, thanks to the overlapping arrangement of its battery, the unit remains close to the helmet shell.
With 18 mm thickness and 37 g weight, Vortex adopts the new “Slim Design” style to preserve the line and aerodynamics of the helmet. Its look can also be customized with three interchangeable faceplates: silver, matte black or white. A fine and customizable design, at a reasonable price.
The new gateway to the Sena universe
At the Vortex equipment level it incorporates second generation 40 mm HD speakers. Advanced Noise Control technology applied to the microphone helps reduce wind noise and ambient sounds transmitted during conversations for clearer exchanges.
