Buell has a new idea on his hands: “The Goat” transforms the Super Cruiser into a huge adventure bike

Buell remains dedicated body and soul to the development of new ideas and concepts with which to complement its current range of models. After the official launch of the Super Cruiser, we have now learned about this curious mechanical monstrosity that the brand itself has named “The Goat.”

Designed to successfully face any off-road requirement that we propose, “It’s one of those bikes that are built ‘because I can’”clarifies Jacob Starkengineering specialist and responsible for special projects for the brand. He concludes: “Can I get to the top of the mountain with all my gear? Yes, I can. These bikes are indestructible. They still work.”

Super Cruiser “The Goat”: the beginning of something new

This is not the first time (nor will it be the last), in which we highlight the possibilities offered by Buell’s Super Cruiser platform. In fact, last June, the Yankee firm pleasantly surprised us with a completely different reinterpretation of its muscular V-Twin. Specifically, a spectacular cafe racer with a handmade appearance and abundant carbon fiber that, like this “The Goat” was unveiled at Daytona 2025.

There has not been much information that has been revealed about both preparations, although about our protagonist today from Buell they comment that it has been designed to be the “dirt bike monster truck”. They also clarify that we are facing “a massive desert hybrid with Viking saddlebags, fully mechanical height adjustment, and an adjustable wheelbase from 65 to 75 inches.”

Super Cruiser “The Goat”: Buell's versatile platform taken to the extreme off-road

As a nod to the project’s personality, Buell’s iconic Pegasus logo was replaced with a goat to represent the bike’s ability to adhere to seemingly impossible surfaces. Regarding the latter, Buell has worked conscientiously on the cycle part of this impressive concept.

Very clear technical philosophy

Starting by including a completely new tubular swingarm in line with the philosophy of the motorcycle. On the other hand, we have a pair of radial wheels shod with tires with a clear hard-core focus. For braking we now have a pair of wave-type discs, one per axle, which are considerably smaller than those fitted to the standard Super Cruiser.

The reason is none other than having considerably reduced the final weight of the set, or that is at least the visual sensation that emerges when looking closely at this Super Cruiser “The Goat”. Another detail that we cannot overlook is found in the front of the motorcycle. This is dominated by a small front dome, along with a fender anchored in a high position.

The suspensions, designed by the WP specialist, feature a powerful inverted fork and a rear monoshock arranged in a central position. An aggressive exhaust system with dual outlets on the right side of the bike completes the list of distinctive elements of the Super Cruiser “The Goat”.

Possible Buell ADV in sight

Although the Super Cruiser “The Goat”, at the moment, is nothing more than a striking concept, the truth is that there is already speculation about the possibility that Buell could use the idea to give life to a new adventure model. An approach that makes all the sense in the world if we look at the industrial policy of the majority of relevant brands in the two-wheeled sector.

This unequivocally involves having common platforms for different models and even ranges. That is why “The Goat” does not escape this work philosophy, becoming a blank canvas on which to give free rein to the imagination. At this point it is the brand’s R&D team who will end up deciding what the real possibilities of carrying out a project of this scope are and what are not.
