The Luca Salvadori Foundation

Barely a year later, the Luca Salvadori Foundation was born with the firm support of his parents, Maurizio and Monica, to try “transform indescribable pain into a concrete and lasting commitment”they explained in an official statement issued at the time of the entity’s officialization. Its founders, since then, have a clear objective on the horizon:

A sculpture dedicated to the memory of Luca Salvadori will be inaugurated in Milan next September

“Support motorcyclists who are victims of accidents, both on the track and on the road, and their families, providing support in rehabilitation, psychological and legal assistance, and promoting the culture of safety as a fundamental value in motorsports and the world of two wheels” just as they themselves have stated.

Salvadori’s memory returns to his origins as a pilot

In 2026, Maurizio Salvadori did not want to miss the opportunity to honor his son through a very special initiative: the creation of a large sculpture by the international artist Nicola Samori. After the approval of the project by the city council, it will be the next September 14 when it opens in a very special place for Luca and his family.

“Le Pieghe”the approximately five-meter-high sculpture, was conceived with the intention of symbolically translating Salvadori’s sporting and biographical experience, while offering an artistic interpretation of the curve theme. This figure, It will be located in the green space between the twin curves of Viale Pietro and Maria Curie, where, as a child, Salvadori took his first curves.

The technical details of the project

As detailed by the city council itself, from a technical point of view, the structure will have a sinuous shape similar to an “S” and will be made mainly of aluminum, with a steel core integrated with cast parts derived from the young rider’s motorcycle. The vertical sculpture will represent a body inspired by Luca’s: flexed, lightened, bathed in light and suspended between fall and rise.

Finally, the work will rest on a Vesuvian stone base that bears the imprint of a wheel and the inscription “Here, in the twin curves, Luca took his first turns. After approval of the project Marco MazzeiCouncilor for Public Space, commented: “By accepting this donation, the Administration wanted to respond mainly to the deep desire of Luca’s family and loved ones to have a place especially linked to his life and sporting career where they can remember him and pay tribute to him.”

He finally concluded by explaining to those present: “Beyond responding to this profound need for remembrance, the work will contribute to enriching the public space of Milan with a sculpture of great value, the fruit of the creativity of an internationally renowned master like Nicola Samorì.”
