In recent weeks, the collaboration agreement between Honda and Uber Eats Japanthrough which, throughout this month of September, the latter’s workers are using an APP designed by the golden wing firm to “assessing safety when driving motorcycles”. A pilot test that is integrated into the “Uber Eats Safe Driving Campaign”organized by the international delivery company.
What does the project consist of?
From Honda they explain that “both companies will verify the effectiveness of the evaluation and incentives to promote safety awareness and improve the driving behavior of Uber motorcycle delivery drivers”. The objective is the same that Honda has promulgated for a few years now: to achieve a collision-free society for all users of public roads.

In this context, Honda has promoted various safety initiatives with the ambitious objective of zero traffic deaths by 2050. Now, through the APP in charge of evaluating the driving of each participating delivery driver, the driving habits of the participants can be compared. “they might not easily recognize it on their own, which will help them improve their handling behavior”they say from the brand.
Incentivizing is the key
Honda argues that, by incorporating rating systems and/or incentives based on scores, both companies aim to help more users develop and maintain good driving habits to improve safety. In this way, the two companies will verify the effectiveness of this approach in improving safety awareness and behavior of Uber Eats Japan motorcycle delivery drivers.

Likewise, thanks to Honda’s own technology, which combines the data collected by the brand with statistical processing, the information on the vehicle dynamics takes into account the specific driving characteristics of the motorcycle, allowing a very precise driving evaluation using only a smartphone.
Honda also relies on the data collected by its instructors in the Road Safety Education Centers, as well as those accumulated in real-world driving carried out by the brand’s own internal test drivers who actively contribute to the development of products directly related to the two-wheeled sector.

Honda and Uber Eats Japan united by a common goal
Since 2025, Honda and Uber have been working together to improve road safety awareness for Uber’s motorcycle delivery partners through joint initiatives, including offering safety awareness content. This content was created from the risk prediction training that Honda offers as part of its driver education program, selecting high-risk scenarios that motorcyclists typically face.
Likewise, as confirmed by Honda “In November 2025 and June 2026, both companies held online seminars on safe driving, exclusively for Uber Eats motorcycle riders in Japan”. Additionally, both companies plan continue offering this training in Japan as part of the content covered by their collaboration agreement.
