Flying FleaRoyal Enfield’s new electric brand, landed just a few days ago in the Catalan capital to participate in Underground BDW, “the most experimental space of Barcelona Design Week (BDW)”they explained from the organization of the event. It has done so through an exhibition space made with sustainable materials and that vindicates the role of the urban vehicle as an object of design, culture and contemporary art.
As its star protagonist was Motototeman art bike created in collaboration with the Italian multidisciplinary artist Mattia Biagi, which has already captured international attention at events such as Milan Design Week 2025 and the 2025 and 2026 editions of Paris Design Week. The piece reinterprets the Flying Flea C6 (FF.C6) electric motorcycle from an artistic perspective, combining industrial design, craftsmanship and contemporary expression.
“Motototem” in detail
Royal Enfield’s first electric motorcycle is the reinterpretation of the original Flying Flea, the military motorcycle from the 1940s that was dropped by parachute and which gives its name to the brand itself. Motototem thus demonstrates how a motorcycle supports different readings: mobility solution, industrial design object and support for artistic creation. In this context, Biagi has retained the silhouette and forged aluminum chassis of the FF.C6.
In parallel, he reinterpreted the rest with natural materials and craftsmanship: a sculpted travertine tank that evokes a deployed parachute, hand-blown glass pieces, bronze grips molded with the artist’s own fingerprints, a solid walnut seat and tires decorated with hand-made leather swallows. Stone, resin and organic textures dialogue with the industrial language of the standard FF.C6.
Flying Flea: a new look at urban electric mobility
Flying Flea’s presence at Underground BDW has coincided with the arrival of the brand to the Spanish market. With the FF.C6, its first electric motorcycle, Royal Enfield begins a new stage in the field of urban mobility, with Barcelona as the first market in Spain and a progressively planned deployment in other cities in the country.
The design of Royal Enfield’s first electric motorcycle is inspired by certain aspects of the original Flying Flea from the last 20th century. Among its most distinctive elements is the contemporary reinterpretation of the Girder-type front suspension, which visually connects the brand’s historical heritage with a new generation of electric mobility.
With a weight of 124 kg, a maximum speed of 115 km/h and a range of up to 104 km in urban cycle (WMTC), the model offers us an interesting mobility option for daily trips. Its electric propulsion system consists of a motor capable of developing a maximum power of 15.4 kW (21 HP) and a 3.91 kWh lithium-ion battery.
All of this is combined with an innovative technological section, including connectivity solutions such as Fleaware OS, developed on Android Automotive OS, a 3.5-inch TFT touch screen, connected navigation and remote software updates. The brand announces an official price of 5,990 euros, being able to choose up to three striking color schemes for its configuration.
