Last Friday, July 5, the launch of one of the most anticipated new features of this year was made official, the Bajaj Freedom 125. A mount that uses a hybrid power supply system, and about which we have previously informed you in detail as its development progressed:
The event was held in the brand’s homeland, India, and was attended by specialized media from the country and the rest of the world. Now we finally know the model and its variants, as well as the most relevant technical data, including those related to its final performance: 9.5 hp at 8,000 rpm and 9.7 Nm at 5,000 rpm, with a declared maximum speed of 93.4 km/h (running on gasoline).
Bajaj Freedom 125: Saving as the main mission
As we have already mentioned, the new Freedom 125 is equipped with a 4-stroke, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine. It is coupled with a 5-speed gearbox and is fueled by separate petrol and CNG tanks, of 2 and 12.5 litres, respectively.
The Freedom 125 is approved for a gasoline consumption of 1.5 l of gasoline per 100 km routes, while if we are using CNG we would need 6.2 liters to cover an equivalent distance. We can switch from one system to the other by simply pressing a button on the handlebar, without having to stop the bike.
Bajaj has announced three different versions of the model, each equipped with a specific level of equipment:
- Freedom 125 NG04
- Freedom 125 NG04 Drum LED
- Freedom 125 NG04 Disc LED
Common data for all of them is the type of rim and size, with 17” at the front and 16” at the back, as well as the seat height, 825 mm. Depending on the variant chosen, we may or may not have a front disc brake, LED lighting or Bluetooth connectivity from its digital instrument panel.
Likewise, the Freedom 125 offers up to seven color schemes with which to configure our specimen: Caribbean Blue, Ebony Black & Grey, Pewter Black & Grey, Racing Red, Cyber White, Pewter & Yellow and Ebony Black & Red. All this for a price that starts from 95,000 rupees, about 1,050 euros To the change.
The brand is already accepting reservations on its official website, where you can also find out any information about the model or any of its variants. It is not clear whether the new Freedom 125 will expand its commercial range to the different surrounding countries and ultimately whether it will reach other markets such as Europe.
