Gopro is very clear about his present and future aspirations in this motorcycle world. Good proof of this was the agreement that closed in January 2024 with the brand of Australian helmets Forcite Helmet Systems, for the purchase of this. As declared at the time Nicholas Woodmanfounder and executive director of GoPro:
“The helmet market, expanding, represents an important opportunity for expansion for GoPro, and we are excited that the Forcite team joins us to work together in improving the performance and safety of various types of helmets, starting with motorcycle.”
GoPro on the way to its own range of helmets
This first strategic and commercial step by Gopro had a very well defined purpose that now, after the last commercial agreement signed with AGV Helmets is even clearer: having its own range of smart helmets. In fact, in the first statement of the American brand, at the rate of his purchase of Forcite Helmet Systems, he already warned us of his intentions:
“In addition to our plan to develop our own helmet line with the Gopro brand, we are excited to associate with other leading helmets to technologically boost their own lines. We deeply respect the consolidated brands and hope to collaborate with them to boost the industry together.”
Now, thanks to Ride Apart’s colleagues, we have met Woodman’s latest statements during the celebration of the act in which Gopro presented his quarterly report of results. This confirmed its new agreement with AGV “To jointly develop your new motorcycle helmets with technology.”
Concluded on this topic: “This alliance between Gopro and AgV represents the exciting potential of two leading brands that join to provide significant innovation, greater security and performance to the world of motorcycling, taking advantage of the design, engineering and brand strengths of each. We hope to share news as we approach the launch of our first joint product.”
