The British manufacturer Ariel Motor Companyknown worldwide for its ultra-exclusive automobiles and motorcycles, has announced the end of production of its roadster Ace after more than a decade on the market.
As we are telling you, the last unit of the Ace produced was delivered to its new owner and stood out, as seen in the photos, for its vibrant orange and blue design, inspired by the mythical colors of Gulf. Thus, this factory based in Somerset and with an extensive history of more than 150 years, closes, in the best possible way, an interesting chapter in its long history.
This was Ariel Ace
Introduced in 2014, the Ariel Ace was driven by a motor Sling 1,237 cc V4, borrowed from the efficient VFR1200 and, as an extra, it offered the option of a manual gearbox or a DCT semi-automatic transmission.
The last manufactured copy of the Aceknown internally as «The last«, was completely assembled by the house’s veteran technician, Joe Greenwho highlighted: “It was a great moment to ship the last Ace motorcycle. We loved creating these custom works of art and hope each one comes back for scheduled maintenance. In fact, it’s like seeing old friends again.”.
Highly customizable, and if the beam fork wasn’t to your liking, the machined aluminum frame of the Ace It could also be equipped with a conventional front axle and, thus, configured for all types of styles, from a cruiser to a café racer. Of course, throughout its history, it also gave rise to several special editions, including the Ace R, the Ace of Diamonds, the Iron Horse and the Black Edition.
Of course, the company is still open and the idea is to manufacture more motorcycles in the future. The director of Ariel, Simon Saunderscommented: «Ariel’s history is full of motorcycles and we look forward to ensuring this legacy continues to fuel our future. We are already looking into the possibilities of a new and different Ariel motorcycle, so stay tuned!«.
