“Brand new”, “zero kilometers”, “new in package”… Once again we bring one of mushrooms curious stories with an iconic Ducati Paul Smart 1000 LE as the protagonist of it. Another of those motorcycles that one day left the assembly lines of the brand in charge of its manufacture, and no one ever decided to enjoy its virtues.
A fact that we have seen repeated in recent times quite frequently and that, most likely, will continue to occur continuously in the coming years. All of this is the result of the final amounts that are usually paid for such sought-after and desired models, such as this special edition from the Italian firm. We don’t even talk if he is in a state US like the one shown here.

What can we say at this point about the exclusive 2006 Paul Smart 1000 LE that hasn’t already been said. In fact, it is a model that we have tried on several occasions in recent years, and even, looking back, it is not the first of all of them to be completely new. As for the motorcycle, we are looking at one of the 2,000 units that were manufactured during the 2006 season in the form of a special and limited edition. It honored one of its most relevant pilots of all time, the same one after whom the model is named. This would achieve, among others, victory in the 1972 Imola 200, becoming Ducati’s first major international triumph.
Everything about her has a strong charge of charisma and iconicity. Starting with its mechanics, a 992 cc L-twin engine equipped with a desmodromic system and associated with a six-speed transmission, which declares a final power of 92 HP at 8,000 rpm and 91.2 Nm at 6,000 revolutions of maximum torque. From its beautiful lattice chassis painted in the green that the original 1972 model sported, through its stylized silhouette finished in silver or ending with the 17″ radial type wheels, everything about it is a visual delight. In addition, Ducati did not skimp when selecting the “black leg” equipment with which it would make up the rest of the set. There’s even more, since the Paul Smart 1000 LE had as standard a Termignoni 2-in-1 exhaust system, CNC-made components or a beautiful single-seat rear tail. If we add to all of the above the fact that this example only has 2 miles on its odometer, we are undoubtedly looking at a truly desirable relic.
