BMW has shown, through social networks, a silhouette and has scheduled us until October 1 to discover what it is. But the reality is that with the little that has been shown, and with what we already knew, we can get an idea of what we are going to see in a few days.
And the silhouette, with a slightly apocalyptic touch and very much in line with today, shows us the profile of a naked motorcycle with low displacement and contained dimensions. How do we know? Simple, it only has one brake disc and, in addition, two exhaust manifolds typical of an in-line twin are clearly visible.
But there is also another reason why we are so sure, and that is that BMW already announced for some time that it was going to take advantage of the platform it had created for the then prototype of the F 450 GS, which today is a reality.
So the path to follow was already marked since the aforementioned prototype was presented two years ago at EICMA and with which, with the little that can be seen, it seems to share something more than the engine, such as the very particular five-spoke wheels that the GS mounts and that can be clearly seen.
Logic suggests performance similar to that of the BMW F 450 GS
Obviously there is no technical data, but logic suggests very similar features, if not identical to those of its trail sister. You can also see a TFT screen and although you cannot see details, it would make all the sense in the world if we were in front of it.
From there, we can point out little more about the model that will have an obvious difference with respect to the GS, and that is that the exhaust will not come out from above at the height of the wheel, but will seek to centralize masses and will be at the bottom.
Everything indicates, therefore, that on October 1 we will meet a new member of the BMW 450 family, predictably called F450R, with the 420 cc and 48 HP twin-cylinder of the F 450 GS as a starting point and an approach clearly focused on the A2 license. Until then, little more than scratching a silhouette that, in reality, has already shown a lot.
