BMW Motorrad celebrates these days a decade of production in Manaus with the launch of a special series of its flagship, the R 1300 GS Adventure. Limited to only 10 unitsthis edition was created to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the brand’s factory in the Amazonian capital and “to honor a trajectory marked by the expansion of local production and the solid relationship between BMW Motorrad and the Brazilian market”they explain from the Bavarian firm.
The R 1300 GS Adventure commemorates the 150,000 examples manufactured
The choice of the BMW R 1300 GS Adventure to star in the commemorative series has special meaning. A reference in the Adventure motorcycle segment in Brazil, this model has also been responsible for commemorating the production of lUnit number 150,000 leaves the assembly line in Manaus. The motorcycle that symbolizes this historical milestone is an R 1300 GS Adventure Triple Black.
Currently, the factory produces 13 models that supply the national market and has consolidated a highly efficient local supply chain, generating hundreds of direct and indirect jobs in the Amazon region. Alex Donattidirector of the BMW Group plant in Manaus, commented during this very special celebration: “Celebrating 10 years of operation would already be an extraordinary milestone, but reaching the mark of 150,000 motorcycles produced at this very moment makes it even more special.”
He concluded: “This shows that our plant has reached its operational, technological and human maturity. Each of these motorcycles carries the DNA of quality and innovation that we have built step by step throughout this decade. This result is the result of the talent of our team and our long-term commitment to the national market. We are extremely proud of this milestone and ready to accelerate towards the next chapters of our history.”
R 1300 GS Adventure limited series in detail
Produced in a unique configuration for the celebration, this special series of only 10 units stands out for its unique visual identity, developed from an exclusive combination of paint, finishes and graphic elements. Commemorative details are distributed throughout different parts of the motorcycle, including the tank, upper trunk, side panels, crankcase protector and valve cover protectors.
Each of the ten units will also include a commemorative plaque numbered “01/10”, which underlines the collector’s item nature of this edition. Likewise, in addition to the exclusive design elements and equipment already present in the standard versions, the ten units will be equipped with the well-known Automatic Shift Assist (ASA), which offers manual or fully automatic configuration.

As explained by the brand itself, the decision to produce only ten units, one for each year of operation of the factory, “gives the series an even more symbolic character. Each example brings together elements directly related to the history of BMW Motorrad in Brazil and the importance of the Manaus factory in the recent history of the brand”they allude.
