Cüimo, the online sales platform for reconditioned second-hand motorcycles, plans to close 2024 with a turnover that exceeds 8 million euros and 1,800 units sold. The company calculates to continue growing without losing control of the quality of its processes, and exceed 5,000 units in 2025.
Born in 2022 as a marketplace that intermediated between buyer and seller, the founders of Cüimo decided to pivot to the current recommerce, after joining the project full-time in November 2023. Since then and thanks to the new approach, the company is growing at 30% month-on-month.
Cüimo and its future growth forecasts
Cüimo has a great reception from its users. As an example of this, it has a net promoter index (NPS) of 91% and 4.8 stars on Google. Furthermore, at the beginning of October it opened its first physical store, the largest in the Community of Madrid, with more than 400 certified used motorcycles.
Alejandro de la Hozco-founder of Cüimo explains that: “On paper, the marketplace was a possible idea, but it did not allow us to have control of the motorcycle and offer the customer a differential experience. In October 2023, we decided to pivot the model to recommerce, in which we directly buy the motorcycles and sell them online, which has been a success.”
Concludes: “In less than a year we have gone from billing 80,000 euros per month to more than one million euros and we have achieved profitability in both EBITDA and net cash. However, what is more important is that this model has allowed us to take care of the product and focus on improving the customer experience by offering a lot of added value. Thus, we have managed to create a community around our brand and position ourselves among the leaders in the sector.”
The motorcycle buying and selling market in Spain and Europe continues to be very traditional, ultra-localized and full of uncertainty. Alejandro de la Hoz explains: “At Cüimo we propose a digital solution that allows you to buy or sell from anywhere in our country and offers the highest quality standards. We turn a slow, tedious and uncertain process into a digital, easy and secure experience.”
With a clear focus on improving the customer experience when purchasing a motorcycle, it has the internal development of its own software that allows it to operate its online dealership much more efficiently. The company, which will close this first year with more than 8,000,000 euros in turnover, has great expansion plans for 2025 and will soon become a leader in Europe.
“Growth at all costs is no longer valid, by 2025 we hope to continue growing aggressively, but maintaining control of processes and profitability, thanks to the internal technology that we are developing. Specifically, we have a goal of 5,000 units by 2025 that we hope to exceed”says Alejandro de la Hoz.
Cüimo has an experienced management team that drives the transformation of the motorcycle market in the country and is led by its founders Alejandro de la Hoz, Jaime Álvarez and Enrique Adrién, who combine their passion for motorcycling with a solid track record in investment banking. and right.
On the other hand, the startup has managed to attract investment from important venture capital funds such as Encomenda, and from highly recognized Business Angels in the ecosystem, among which Carlos Rivera (Clicars) and Hugo Arévalo (The Power MBA) stand out, who contribute not only capital, but also valuable strategic support.
“We are very lucky to have unbeatable travel companions, people with experience in the sector who help us make fewer mistakes and focus on what will truly help us position ourselves as market leaders in Europe”says Alejandro de la Hoz.
