We have always said that riding a motorcycle brings an extra freedom, which gives you life, that you feel better … and it turns out that now the team of Dr. Ryuta Kawashima, which you may know for the Brain Training games that were so popular for a few years ago, has confirmed that the last two statements are scientifically correct.
And it is that the same team of researchers developed by the famous video game that allowed to train certain areas of our brain, discovered that driving a motorcycle or scooter is an excellent exercise for our brain.
Under the direction of Ryuta Kawashima, a group of middle -aged men were subjected to various experiments to conclude that, riding a motorcycle provides real benefits both in the cognitive speed and in the ability to concentrate. In fact, in the group they gathered men who knew how to drive motorcycle, but had not used it in the last 10 years, and half began to use it as the only means of transport in the next two months, while the other half followed its usual process.
Moto set up two months in a row fired their mental abilities
The result after two months was, at least, striking and is that the group that only used the motorcycle showed a cognitive capacity of 50% higher than the group that did not. They demonstrated to have better memory and greater mental flexibility that was also reflected at work, with greater attention and a general sensation of greater well -being.
According to the researchers themselves, this is because driving the motorcycle requires a greater effort than doing it with any other vehicle, both physically and mentally, and hence there is a difference. Precisely we have already seen on other occasions the calories it consumes riding a motorcycle, which is a double benefit.
Being a means of transport that consumes resources from our body to a greater extent than others, there are even those who affirm that it is positive even with people with chronic diabetes as it is a moderate exercise and, therefore, can reduce the need for daily insulin. Although in this case we talk about a complex medical theme, which must be consulted with the specialists and not launch into the adventure …
