This is not the first time we have seen attitudes of this style. But it is the first time that a custom that is spreading with the connivance of security forces and politicians (each for different reasons) has transcended in our country. Reality once again surpasses fiction and, at times, it seems that MadMax is closer than we could imagine.
The images spread on social networks leave no room for doubt: groups of motorcycles, many of them dirt bikes and, therefore, without lights, permits or insurance, circulating through the streets and roads of Mislata (Valencia) doing wheelies and “challenging the police” in a shabby copy, but just as insane, as what we have been seeing for years in the United States and more recently in France.
A lack of respect and civility that is palpable in every class of our current society, but that rises to the maximum when it is taken to road traffic, where each action can have a serious consequence. And not only for the one who stars in it, but for the rest of the users.
Perhaps the most outrageous part of this trend, which is growing, is that in different shots of this video you can clearly see the police, who at that moment have no option or possibility to do anything.
Without means it is impossible to stop this trend
And stopping a group of this type of beings is not easy without the appropriate means and, of course, a van is not one of them. While this is happening and the security forces neither can nor, in some cases, want to get involved in the complications that would arise from the action that should be carried out to put an end to these actions.
Unfortunately, neither the material means nor the legal means are on the side of the security forces. While those who should really focus their efforts on ensuring the safety of road users, the DGT, is more focused on the implementation of the V16 than on solving the real problems that plague users day in and day out. In this specific case, the solution is, without a doubt, to provide all possible means to the security forces so that situations like these do not go unpunished.
Another sad point about this situation is seeing the support of some brainless people for this type of criminals. And for these types of people everything is laughter until there is an accident and the victim is them or someone around them…
