To develop the new Panigale V4 2027Ducati has focused on every detail capable of improving performance, just as it does in competition. Based on the experience gained in racing, the Borgo Panigale brand has evolved the V4 to make it even faster and more efficient on the circuit.
To achieve this, it has perfected the engine, aerodynamics, chassis and electronics, fine-tuning every aspect of the motorcycle with a single objective: increase its potential and allow the pilot to use it more effectively. The result is a Panigale V4 with greater performance and more intuitive and accessible behavior when driving at the limit.
The effectiveness of the set is confirmed by the tests carried out at the Vallelunga circuit, where the new Panigale V4 recorded a average lap time reduction of 0.4 seconds compared to the previous model. Many of the Panigale V4 MY27 solutions were also tested and validated in racing conditions by Ducati riders during the Lenovo Race of Champions.
Ducati Panigale V4 2027 engine
The heart of the new Panigale V4 2027 is the Desmosedici Stradale V4 at 90° with desmodromic distribution, counter-rotating axle and Twin Pulse distribution. For the 2027 model year, updates focus on optimizing overall engine efficiency through a revised exhaust system, a new higher-flow intake intake (+0.6% at 300 km/h) and a recalibrated lubrication circuit to reduce power losses.
These modifications raise the maximum power to 218 hp at 13,500 rpm with the greatest gains between 12,000 and 14,000 rpm and a maximum increase of 3.5 HP at 13,000 rpm. The maximum declared torque is now 120.6 Nm at 11,000 rpmwhile average consumption remains at 6.5 L per 100 km at legal rates. The tangible advantage is even greater acceleration capacity.
On the other hand, as the brand states, “At high speed, the additional increase provided by the new intake provides an extra 1.3 HP at 300 km/h”. For those looking for maximum performance on the track, the new Akrapovič Full Racing Exhaust PRO exhaust system is also available, which adds 11 HP and 7 Nm of torque, while reducing the weight of the bike by 6.6 kg.
Cycle part of the Ducati Panigale V4 2027
Another point on which this evolution of the Panigale V4 2027 has focused is its cycle part. The main modification affects the Front Frame, front subframe, whose lateral stiffness has been reduced by 12%which improves the bike’s ability to keep the tire in contact with the asphalt at large lean angles.
The symmetrical two-arm swingarm remains unchanged —Ducati Hollow Symmetrical Swingarm—; light and with an innovative design, thanks to a specific geometry, which allows the position of the silencer to be maintained under the engine. The suspensions are in charge of a 43 mm Showa Big Piston (BPF) fork, fully adjustable, along with a Sachs monoshock and a steering damper also signed by the Germans.
Braking, for its part, is made up of two 330 mm front discs powered by Brembo Hypure monobloc calipers, while at the rear we find a third disc, 245 mm, and a double-piston caliper. The assembly is anchored on five-spoke light alloy wheels shod with pneumatic tires. Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP-V4 in sizes 120/70ZR-17 and 200/60-17, front and rear respectively. In addition, it is electronically assisted by a Race eCBS electronic system.
Likewise, at the maximum level Ducati declares an empty weight of 191 kilogramsa figure to which we must add the 17 liters of fuel that we can store in your tank. On the other hand, the seat placed at 850 mm from the ground and we have a wheelbase of 1,477mm8 mm less than the previous generation. This makes the Panigale V4 even faster when changing direction.
Equipment and finishes of the Ducati Panigale V4 2027
The electronics of the new 2027 Panigale V4 go one step further by transferring management strategies to the series motorcycle that allow you to experience sensations and riding techniques that are increasingly closer to those of official Ducati riders in MotoGP and Superbike. The main novelty is the Dynamic Engine Brake, a system that replaces the previous Engine Brake Control.
This uses the DVO (Ducati Vehicle Observer) algorithm to modulate the engine brake based on the actual load on the rear tire. The result is more predictable behavior when entering corners, greater stability when braking with the bike leaning and greater confidence when riding at the limit. Along with the Dynamic Engine Brake, the new Race Brake Control debuts, derived directly from the experience acquired with the most exclusive models in the Ducati range.
The system increases the contribution of the rear wheel during deceleration, allowing the available grip to be used more effectively. The joint operation of the Dynamic Engine Brake and the Race Brake Control allows the rider to take advantage of a braking capacity of the rear wheel usually reserved for professionals. This allows the braking point to be delayed, maintain a higher speed when entering a curve and make tighter and more efficient lines.
The result is a significant improvement in efficiency with each lap, along with a feeling of control and confidence available to a much wider range of drivers. It also incorporates new adjustable handlebars designed for use on the track. By raising them by 10 mm, a higher riding position is achieved, in line with the trend followed in the development of MotoGP in recent years.
This allows the rider to exert greater leverage on the handlebars, improving control and reducing physical effort when changing direction and during intense and prolonged braking. The rest of the elements and systems that make up the standard equipment of the model would be:
- Biplane configuration ailerons, with integrated design.
- Next-generation electronic package with six-axis inertial measurement unit (6D IMU): Race eCBS with cornering assist function; Ducati Traction Control (DTC) DVO; Ducati Slide Control (DSC); Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC) DVO; Ducati Power Launch (DPL) DVO; Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) 2.0; Dynamic Engine Brake (DEB); Race Brake Control (RBC); Ducati Vehicle Observer (DVO).
- Buttons for quick adjustment of intervention levels
