The fashion of the automatic change system seems to have reached the world of two wheels to stay. Ducati could be the last to join this technological current, according to the latest news that we have known about the registration of patent paths by the Italian firm, both related to this type of technologies.
Ducati Automatic Change System: It could be presented this year
There is no doubt that the motorcycle sector evolves by leaps and bounds in recent years. The arrival of what we commonly know as a system of automatic change has meant a great advance in benefits and comfort in mean and large frames. Perhaps one of these most striking technological displays is the well-known Honda e-Clutch, which has become, as defined by the brand itself, “In the first automatic clutch control system for motorcycles with conventional change.“
Apparently, Ducati could follow the same steps as the signing of the golden wing when forming its automatic change system, as we have known by motorcycle. However, the biggest difference between the two would lie in the Burgo Panigale brand betting on two different aspects to offer this equipment:
On the one hand, we would have the possibility to enjoy “An electromechanical system that can automatically manage the clutch, keeping the lever for manual gear changes”as details the Italian medium. On the other, the brand is committed to a second option by replacing it with an electronic control that communicates directly with the ECU.
The difference between the Ducati automatic change system and that of the rest of the brands is that it has been designed for hydraulic drive clutches. Said all this, the next thing to ask is when Ducati intends to present his new technological flap. If we review the latest events related to the brand, the option that this would take advantage of its next Panigale V4 R to publicize this innovative technology could be perfectly valid. EICMA 2025 would be the ideal place for this, although for now the transalpine firm has not confirmed either one, or the other.
