One more year, the Ducati V21L is the official motorcycle of the Motoe World Cup, perhaps the most important monomarca cup on the international scene, because in the category there are some renowned pilots and getting victory is not precisely easy.
But this year, or the 18 pilots will have an even faster motorcycle or, at least, that is what Ducati expects with the introduction of important improvements for the season that will start during the MotoGP France Grand Prix on the weekend from May 9 to 11.
A month ahead to start the season and a Ducati V21L that has evolutions in all aspects of the motorcycle, ranging from the propulsion system to electronics through the chassis.
The changes of the Ducati V21L
Those three aspects that we commented above – chassis, propulsion and electronics – are those that improve on the 23 motorcycles (18 for the pilots and 5 reserve), and all of them are intended to make records be beaten the records in each of the 7 tracks that will visit the Motoe Calendar.
If we look at the changes in the propulsion section, we find cells with a more advanced chemistry and with a greater energy density of 5 ah compared to 4.2 ah of the previous version. Thanks to this, 192 battery cells have been reduced, from 1152 to 960 cells without losing power or autonomy. So now the battery is smaller and has less dough, getting the weight by 8.2 kg
Only that variation makes an improvement between three and four tenths per return. But the changes do not end there because the traction control will be adjustable curve to curve. The equipment can define three different maps, selectable by the pilot and with different calibrations for each section of the circuit.

The third of the changes has arrived with the chassis part with new steering caps, which make the motorcycle 4 millimeters longer. Also the tilt axis can be adjusted in height.
To finish off the changes, for the second round of the season, in Assen, a new rear tire will arrive that is 600 grams lighter and this is an important change because it will make the motorcycle more maneuverable and agile.
In total, with that last change, the motorcycle will pass from 225 to 216.2 kg, a substantial improvement although they will continue to be tremendously heavy motorcycles compared to combustion models.
