Ducati Scrambler turns 10 and to celebrate, CASA SEAT offers a thematic exhibition which highlights the strong link between Ducati Scrambler and values such as design, creativity and the non-conformist spirit. An exhibition of different models was inaugurated in the emblematic Barcelona building, from classics to unique pieces, which demonstrate the strong link of the Borgo Panigale manufacturer with art, culture and the defense of a lifestyle.
This exhibition will be the nerve center of an anniversary that also includes a day dedicated to design schools and a route through the city on Thursday afternoon. The starting signal for this celebration was an event attended by the press, representatives from the field of design and creativity and brand enthusiasts, in an evening that united the passion for motorcycles, with design, art, music and a cooking show with a marked Italian flavor by Pasta Garofalo.
The event was chaired by the head of Ducati Scrambler at Ducati Motor Holding, Rocco Canosa, the president of Volkswagen Group Spain Distribution, Paco Pérez Botello, the General Director of Audi Spain, Alberto Teichman and the Director of Ducati Spain and Portugal, Carlos T. López Panisello, who toured the exhibition.
Ducati Scrambler: 10 years of distinctive design and reference technology
It presents a very representative selection of Scrambler models, including a Scrambler Ducati 10° Anniversario | Rizoma Edition, in addition to a Scrambler 1100 Tribute Pro, a Desert Sled Fasthouse, or even classic models and two pieces artistically intervened by the Catalan illustrators Adrià Marquès, known as El Marquès, and Genie Espinosa.
The tanks of two Scramblers passed through the hands of the two talents of Barcelona’s creative scene to transform them into unique works of art, fusing illustration, engineering and industrial design. Together with them, Canosa and López Panisello participated in a round table moderated by Raúl Bermúdez, creative director of the Creative Festival, to talk about how this motorcycle has transcended its function as a vehicle to become a form of expression, establishing an emotional connection from the brand, which has consolidated it as a lifestyle icon.
Rocco Canosa commented during the event: “Scrambler is the model most linked to the design and creativity of Ducati. It is freedom. It is Attitude. Values that especially fit in a city like Barcelona, which has always embraced style and avant-garde as a mark of identity, and in which the passion for motorcycles is palpable in the streets. Celebrating ten years of Ducati Scrambler in a city that unites culture and motorcycles in such an organic way is the ideal setting to highlight “the unique lifestyle that our motorcycles represent, with a distinctive design and reference technology.”
For his part, López Panisello stressed: “This brand was born with the desire to break the mold and connect with a new generation of motorcyclists and a decade later we remain faithful to our spirit. The motorcycles that we have here reflect this path traveled, in which the unique mix between authenticity and style are combined in fun, versatile and highly technological motorcycles. Motorcycles that also represent freedom, emotion and creativity, values that make complete sense with the work of these fantastic artists on our bikes.”
To celebrate 10 years of the iconic Ducati Scrambler model, Pasta Garofalo and chef Gianni Pinto from the Noi restaurant (1 Sol Repsol and mention in the Michelin Guide) offered an exclusive showcooking inspired by the Ducati universe and its iconic motorcycle. For the occasion, the chef created two original recipes that reinterpret the values of the Italian brand – freedom, style and fun – through the language of his cuisine.
Fusilloni Garofalo “Rosso” Ducati, a recipe based on roasted pomodoro, fluid Parmigiano Reggiano cream and peperoncino bread crumble, and Rigatoni Garofalo “Giallo” Scrambler, a light Parmigiano Reggiano cream with saffron, truffle butter and soft tapenade designed for the occasion, were served.
Another highlight of this Ducati anniversary will be the “Afterwork Scrambler Ride”, an urban route on Thursday evening created by Ducati for Scrambler owners and non-owners, which will travel through different parts of the city. An afternoon on two wheels with which to show off brand pride. A unique opportunity to discover the Scrambler lifestyle up close, and enjoy the brand and Italian design in community.
