The 32nd edition of the Yokohama Hot Rod Custom Show, held last December 1, leaves us with unique images and moments where the world of motorsports consolidates itself once again as the main protagonist of this famous macro event.
For the occasion they had four of the most important motorcycle brands on the planet: BMW Motorrad, Harley-Davidson, Indian Motorcycle and Royal Enfield. All of them showed some of the most exciting preparations that we have been able to enjoy in 2024.
Yokohama Hot Rod Custom Show 2024: The world of preparations elevated to the nth degree
If you are a lover of the world of customizations, sometime in your life you should visit the Yokohama Hot Rod Custom Show. In this edition the organization has had the presence and sponsorship of such relevant brands as BMW Motorrad. It showed its “R12 Custom Project” to a dedicated audience, the first official BMW R 12 custom project in the world. Four unique customizations, the work of some of the most successful trainers in the country, which highlights the versatility of this platform.
For its part, at this year’s Harley-Davidson booth, under the supervision of US-based designer Dais Nagao, the custom shop Joyride Speed Shop presented the “Lowrider ST” preparation. The debut at HCS2024 generated a lot of excitement.
Inside the booth, a chat session with Dais Nagao and Joyride Speed Shop took place, along with a speech from Brad Richards, head of Harley-Davidson’s design department. The booth created a space where visitors could fully experience the allure of Harley-Davidson’s roots in the world of customization.
Another of the brands present at the Yokohama Hot Rod Custom Show 2024 was Royal Enfield, which presented the preparation based on the Shotgun 650, the work of Icon Motorsports. A truly unique project that dazzles in each and every one of its details, thanks to an explosive cafe racer image with dragster touches, sporting an iconic eighties retro look.
Additionally, as part of Royal Enfield’s official custom programme, ‘Custom World’, two custom motorcycles based on the Shotgun 650 and Super Meteor 650 were on display, created in collaboration with specialists from around the world.
To further enhance the display, Cherry’s Company’s custom “Challenger” sidecar was built. Last year, it was also on display, creating a diverse and captivating display of custom creations.
A very special guest, Roland Sands, also showed us his talent at the 2024 Yokohama Hot Rod Custom Show, customizing a Sport Scout that was among the many custom motorcycles on display. Other highlights included an Indian Scout built by Brittney Olsen, a former motorcycle racer and founder of 20th Century Racing, and another Indian Scout designed by Ronna Norén of Unique Custom Cycles. Each bike showcased unique personalities and exceptional craftsmanship, captivating visitors with their distinctive styles and artistry.
This year, the Yokohama Hot Rod Custom Show featured the custom Harley-Davidson FXBB, along with other Indian Motorcycle custom bikes and a Road Glide CVO equipped with a stabilizer system and Hannya bars. In addition, we were also able to enjoy the R12 “Legal Weapon” customized with accessories from specialist Trijya.
Likewise, Neo Factory, a distributor of Harley-Davidson parts, appeared at the sponsor’s booth and attracted a lot of attention with the replica of the Springer 74 fork, which was meticulously recreated to capture its vintage charm.
Finally, note the presence of bands like OH! Sharels, Minnesota Voodoo Men and Jackie and the Cedrics who were in charge of entertaining the event throughout the day. Also the endless number of exhibitors from brands closely linked to the sector and lifestyle offered by the Yokohama Hot Rod Custom Show, such as Vans, WD-40, Brixton or Volcom, among others.
