Filtered the first image of the wh8000D

The latest information that comes to us from China suggest that Honda would be very close to making their first electric motorcycle known, the Wh8000Dafter his recent approval in the Asian country.

Filtered the first image of the model, which is the result of its collaboration with the local brand Wuyangwe can get the first conclusions of what could be to come, although according to the data we already have, we get a general idea of the Japanese firm’s plans to be released in the segment of the plug -in motorcycle.

Wuyang-Honda Wh8000D: retro image and urban efficiency

Something like 17 years have passed since Honda began to shape what could be his first electric motorcycle. We speak, of course, spectacular the RC-E prototype in which they were working since 2008 and which would finally be presented at the Tokyo Hall of 2011. Since then Honda has presented several plug-in scooter models, including EM1 E. He has also worked on offroad competition mounts focused on the disciplines of MX and Trial.

However, he had not yet taken the step to conceive what could be his first electric street motorcycle. This is where your “Joint Venture” China where, in collaboration with Wuyang, it seems that everything is ready to debut in this segment by the hand of its new e-vo, known in internal code as Wh8000D. As we can see in this first image, which we have met thanks to the publication of Cycle World, we would be facing a retro image machine, halfway between a Racer café and a citizen motorcycle to use.

Honda knows about the importance of the product “between the eyes” and the very fashionable thing that is all related to the vintage style. In addition, it makes use of technical resources typical of a conventional motorcycle in this Wh8000D. For example, mount the engine and battery pack inside the chassis and not in the rear area, as usually occurs in the electric scooter models we know.

Its exterior forms give rise to a false fuel tank, we assume that used as storage hole. It also highlights the aerial -type fairing that is responsible for covering the aforementioned electrical parts. On the front, the classic round lighthouse stands out, wrapped in a cupulino chaired by a transparent dome that covers the front in its entirety.

In the middle and rear zone we find a large seat at two heights carefully upholstered in brown leather. In the center of the same we have a cinch destined to the passenger grip. Although we do not have a subsequent image, the design of the intermittency equipment, of rounded shapes, maintaining the general retro style that this Wh8000D looks is clearly distinguished.

Regarding the technical section, we know that Honda has approved two different versions of the model, with specific performance and weight, each of them. In both cases we have 11 CV of power8 kW, (hence 8000 in the registered acronym of the patent itself). This figure is likely to be doubled into the maximum power peak offered by the engine, although something is just craving, taking into account the declared emptiness weight of both variants: 143 and 156 kilograms respectively.

This weight difference is due to whether the WH8000D equips one or two batteries of the Mobile Power Power E Honda system. However, the future e-vo could reach a peak speed of 110 and 120 km/hdepending on the chosen version. All this is combined with a cycle part where the size of its 16 ”in front and 14” tires stands out, you are with tires in 110/70 and 140/70 measures respectively.

This gives us an idea of the size of the motorcycle, halfway between a Grom and a conventional mount equipped with 17 ”tires, with a final axle distance of 1,379 mm. It also has a brake disc of axis, ABS and front inverted fork.

Although we still do not know the exact moment in which the new Wuyang-Honda Wh8000D will be officially presented, we are undoubtedly before a new milestone of the Japanese brand. Nor is it clear if this will be, and not another model, with which Honda will debut in the electric motorcycle segment, in international markets. At the moment it is time to wait.
