The Royal Spanish Motorcycle Federation (RFME) has participated in the FIM Mototour of Nations 2026the international motorcycle tourism event organized by the International Motorcycle Federation (FIM) that was held in the Finnish city of Imatra from August 11 to 14.
Our country has finished as the fifth delegation with the highest number of participants among the 23 nationalities present at the meeting, thanks to an outstanding representation of motorcyclists from different parts of Spain.
FIM Mototour of Nations 2026: motorcycling and tourism in Finland
For four days, the RFME delegation has combined motorcycling, tourism, culture and international coexistence along a route of around 550 kilometers through the Imatra region and the spectacular landscapes of the Saimaa lakes. The routes have crossed some of the most representative places in the area, leaving unique moments, such as arriving by motorcycle to the border between Finland and Russia.
Imatra also offers a setting with a close connection with the history of motorcycling. Participants in the FIM Mototour of Nations 2026 have had the opportunity to tour the surroundings of the historic Imatranajo urban circuit. This has hosted the Finnish Grand Prix of the World Championship for decades, and they have visited the Imatra Moottorikerho ry, a local motorcycle club linked to the tradition and racing of the city.

Samuel Arias shines with his own light at the event
The FIM Mototour of Nations 2026 program has also included tours and visits through the Saimaa region, with stops in Sahanlahti, the Salpa Line and the Imatrankoski rapids. In this context, the Spanish participation had a prominent protagonist, Samuel Arias Fernández, who was only 19 years old.
During the event, he received recognition as the youngest male participant in the FIM Mototour of Nations 2026, an award that demonstrates the incorporation of new generations into federated motorcycling. Likewise, Spain’s fifth position by number of participants, together with the recognition obtained by Samuel Arias, leaves a positive balance for the representation of the RFME in Finland.

After four days in Imatra, the Spanish delegation returns home with the aim of continuing to grow RFME motor tourism and the Spanish presence in the next editions of the FIM Mototour of Nations.
