Freestyle revolutionized the way in which many knew the world of motorcycles a couple of decades ago. When a certain brand of energy drinks put all the meat on the grill with the discipline, Oh began to mount events through the planet, one of the most spectacular disciplines gained a lot of popularity even among those who did not like motorcycles.
The increasingly complex figures, the risks and being able to do it in relatively small enclosures allowed every summer weekend night to have freestyle or exhibition competitions, but has never come to have a competitive condition as such.
The jurors measured and punctuated, but they were independent events and that is something that the FIM now intends to change with the creation of the Freestylegp, which creates the FIM World Cup of Freestylegp by 2026 by the hand of the promoter Fly Actions.
The objective of both FIM and the promoter is that Freestylegp becomes a competitive reference beyond the events linked to one or other brands and that, therefore, can leave out some participants who never come to look face to face in a regular basis.
Freestylegp will have the world championship range from 2027
In any case, part of everything we will see next season is yet to be defined, which is known to have three competitions and that the first will take place in Pamplona on February 28 in a place to be determined yet and then have two more appointments on European soil. Already, in the face of 2027, the championship is expected to be climbing globally and then will have a Freestylegp world championship range.

Jorge Viegas, president of the FIM, is convinced of the viability of this spectacular championship and the progression he will live in the coming years: «The FIM is firmly committed to the development of the Discipline of Freestyle, and this championship represents a key step for its international expansion in an official framework. We are convinced that, after a year of trial with three events in 2026, we can evolve it towards a world championship that brings together the best pilots on the planet in a series of tests organized on several continents from 2027. »
Meanwhile, the Spanish Patxi Larrea, director of Fly Actions, makes clear the goal of the championship: «The agreement with the FIM marks a turning point for the International Freestyle. Our goal is to offer a championship that combines the highest sports standards with a dynamic, accessible and exciting format for fans around the world. “
