Although we are practically ending the year, the Japanese fiscal year is very different from ours and runs from April to March of the following year. Therefore, right now we are starting the second semester and, although a little late, we have known Honda’s global sales.
On September 30, the first half of its fiscal year ended and the truth is that, at a time that is being difficult for major brands in the sector, Honda is once again gaining muscle, increasing sales in North America, Europe and Asia (notably ) as well as in other regions.
If we compare the figures with respect to the same period in 2023, we see that there is an increase of 61,000 units in 2024. Taken to total figures, we speak of 18,919,000 motorcycles having been sold in this first half compared to the already spectacular 18,757,000 in 2023. They therefore continue the trend that we already saw in 2022.
In Spain Honda also increases its sales
As for the five most important countries in terms of sales, we find India at the top, followed by Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia and Brazil, and this despite the fact that Thailand is not going through its best economic moment right now. , as Honda acknowledges in its own report.
In fact, said report states that: “Year-to-date sales results (April to September 2024) exceeded the same period last year due to strong demand in India and economic recovery in Vietnam, despite a decline in Thailand related to a economic slowdown.”
Although compared to those markets, the Spanish one is less important within Honda’s economic balance, in Spain it is the best-selling brand with an annual cumulative total until the end of October of 41,607 units, which also represents a variation (according to the data collected by ANESDOR) of 2.3%.
