Last April, taking advantage of a scheduled Honda corporate event in China, the Japanese brand’s subsidiary unveiled the new and long-awaited CB500 Super Four and the CBR500R to the audience. Two models that have been talked about for months and that are now a reality in some Asian markets. Now, regarding the latter, Honda has presented a striking preparation in the purest “MotoGP style”: the CBR500R Four Racing Color.

On the occasion of the recent Chongqing Motorcycle Show in China, Honda has come up with this striking preparation on the platform provided by its innovative mid-displacement sports model. A concept that has not left anyone indifferent thanks to the successful radical image that the selected components that adorn its silhouette give it.
Starting with the forceful front spoilers integrated into its front. Although they do not have a design similar to that of Joan Mir’s MotoGP, displayed next to this CBR500R Four Racing Color, they fulfill the function sought by the brand in stylistic terms and we do not know if also aerodynamically. These are in turn combined with vertical fins anchored to the back of the motorcycle.
This preparation is completed by the rear single-seater seat and a livery based on the HRC colors displayed on the bikes of Joan Mir and Luca Marini in the current 2026 MotoGP campaign. In short, a preparation on which the brand has not officially commented. Not at least in commercial terms, so, for now, we would be talking about a concept with the sole purpose of exhibiting the potential offered by the CBR500R Four.
No technical changes in sight
Beyond the visual and aerodynamic aspect, this CBR500R Four Racing Color did not present any technical modifications. We assume that its 502 cc tetra-cylinder engine remains unchanged from the commercial version offered by the brand in the Chinese market. Currently, Honda approves a power of 52.8 KW at 11,000 rpm (approximately 70.1 HP), with a declared maximum torque of 47.1 Nm at 10,000 revolutions and a top speed of 210 km/h.
Likewise, the chassis, commanded by a diamond-shaped steel chassis, includes, among others, KYB suspensions, Nissin brakes and alloy wheels shod with 120/70ZR17M/C (58W) and 160/60ZR17M/C (69W) tubeless tires, front and rear respectively. All this with a final weight of 189 kilogramsa figure that could perhaps be altered as a result of the new equipment elements fitted to this CBR500R Four Racing Color.
Will there be a registrable version?
We cannot answer this question at the moment, basically because Honda has not clarified this issue during the Chinese show. There is no doubt about the charm that this CBR500R Four Racing Color preparation has, nor is there any doubt that many fans of the brand and the model would queue up to get a copy if Honda decided to market it in series.
For now we have to wait for the brand to offer us all its new features at the next edition of EICMA. Perhaps they will expose this striking preparation again; If necessary, they will even end up confirming some type of special and/or limited series. But all this is a lot to assume at the moment, so we will stay tuned for future updates on the subject.
