A few weeks ago we advanced the future plans in which Stark Future actively works. These include, according to their executive and founder director, Anton Wassdemonstrate that electric motorcycles can overcome in all aspects of gasoline. But to be able to achieve this milestone within the two -wheeled sector, the first thing to do the Swedish firm based in Barcelona, is to develop a complete range of registered models.
And in this it seems that they are, according to the last corporate video that, as a teaser, offers us brief brushstrokes of what would come. This happens, in addition to the announced Supermotard model, based on its current VARG, two other DV -shaped road options and sports motorcycle. About these last point these two names: “Älg” and “lo”. These are the names with which they would supposedly be commercially baptized both.
Stark Future road range: What the brand counts
Recently, Wass declared about his brand’s future plans: “For years it has been taken for granted that an electric motorcycle would be a commitment, somewhat less exciting or less capable than a gasoline. We believe otherwise. Our goal is to build machines that are objectively higher and, at the same time, more fun to pilot.”
In the recent video-teaser published in its official YouTube channel, it is Anton Wass himself who describes the R&D process to which Stark Future is being submitted with the sole intention of debuting in different segments of the motorcycle sector with plug-in models of high performance: “Our ambition goes far beyond motocross.”
On how to carry out this plan, he explains: “The path we will take will be an immense challenge. Our ambition is to become one of the largest motorcycle manufacturers in the world. We want to produce and sell millions of motorcycles a year.” To achieve this objective, Wass relies on the net income collected by the company in recent months, with estimated benefits in 4.5 million euros.
These results are the result of the sale of some 5,000 units in the last quarter. On the other hand, the brand received about 100 million euros in the last external financing round. However, the company seeks to diversify its product range, leaving behind the idea that we are only facing a brand that factory MX electric motorcycles: “Today people see Stark as a motocross company, and I think it is important that we start talking about this externally” Clarifies Wass.
So, determined to change the course of Stark Future, the brand’s mandamases have got to work in the design and development of the aforementioned Supermotard, Deportivo and ADV models. About the latter, says Wass in the video: “This motorcycle fits perfectly in the category of 800 cc. Our goal is 50 % more power, a lighter weight and a load time as fast as that of a coffee.”
And it continues: “We believe it will become the best -selling adventure motorcycle in the world, which is very exciting,”. Regarding the sports motorcycle where they already work, the “lo” model (means lynx in Swedish), Wass argues that “The goal is the same (referring to the ADV model): more power, less weight; load it faster than it takes to have coffee. Both motorcycles have more autonomy than energy allows you.”
On the other hand, referring to the common platform currently using the brand, concludes: “Our ambition is that the Gimli platform becomes the world’s best -selling motorcycle platform, with millions of units per year, so it has a very competitive objective price and, at the same time, it exceeds all gasoline competitors in, say, a range of 100 to 500 cc.”
Said all this there are still some questions in the air. Especially related to the strategic and logistics plans of the brand. Although they currently assemble each and every motorcycles in the factory that it owns in Barcelona, it is very likely that, if this new range of models reach production, this task will develop (partly or in its entirety) in other countries. Something that, for the moment, have not confirmed from the direction of Stark Future.
