This year we all expected to see how far Jorge Martín was able to arrive in his change to Aprilia. With the number 1 in the fairing, but with a motorcycle technically below the Ducati, there was a lot of expectation of seeing what would be able to do. But everything began to complicate in the Sepang tests.
Martín went to the ground and was injured, having to go through an operating room in Barcelona and starting an express recovery that was on the right track until, the week before the opening event of the season in Thailand, he suffered a new fall training in which new injuries occurred, being the most complex the one suffered in escaphoid.
Fortunately and after the dispute of three major awards, it seems that Jorge Martín is very close to his return, this is reflected at least the last statement issued by the Spanish team:
«Jorge Martín underwent a follow -up with radiography. The evaluation is positive, since the formation of a bone callus in the fracture of the scaphoid is clearly observed. The synthesis screw is well positioned and tolerated, confirming the expected and satisfactory result of surgery. “
Although the recovery is on the right track, Jorge Martín still does not have the approval to participate in the Qatar GP
Undoubtedly, very good news for the Spanish pilot, who was in Austin last weekend with his team to be integrated, because, due to the injury, his interactions in the circuit were limited to the tests in Barcelona and the first day of Sepang.

In any case, these good news does not directly imply that Jorge Martín can participate in the Qatar Grand Prix, which will take place in just over a week. Before being able to participate in it, a new medical review will first have to pass with the specialists who are treating him at the Dexeus Clinic in Barcelona and, if they are approved, it will be the medical managers of the championship who should be approved in the Losail circuit itself.
