A little over two weeks ago that, from the official Kawasaki Usa channel, a short teaser video was launched under the title of “Project H2”in which, in just 15 seconds, they made us know their intentions to launch some vehicle propelled by the well -known Supercharger engine that equips the exotic H2R. Initially, guiding us by the silhouette conato shown in the images, everything pointed to the possibility of a utv (utility task vehicle) of new invoice, endowed with the excellent tetrachindric supercargin.
“Project H2”: New clues about what would come to come
Now, thanks to the expertise of Ride Apart, we have known the existence of endless patents related precisely to a UTV equipped with an engine with super -recorder, as explained in the descriptive text of the patent itself: “An off -road vehicle includes an internal combustion engine, a super -recorder, an intercooler, an admission tank, an accelerator body, first injectors and at least a second injector.”
Although he does not speak directly of a “tetra engine”, it does clear that we would be facing a mechanic that includes several cylinders. In addition, if we review the current Kawasaki UTV´s range, we can find models such as the Teryx KRX 1000 equipped with a bicylindrical propeller in parallel of 999 CC, four times, with 4 valves and liquid cooling. The idea that the famous “Project H2” could develop on a model similar to it would not be uncooch.
Returning to the description of the patents themselves, these clarify that: “The supercharger supplies the engine of admission to the engine. The intercooler is in an admission duct provided between the supercharger and the engine. The intake tank is found in the admission duct and defines an admission chamber within it. The accelerator body is in the admission duct and includes admission ducts and butterfly valves. ”
Concludes: “Admission ducts are connected respectively to cylinder admission ports. Butterfly valves are found respectively in admission ducts. The first injectors are found in the accelerator body and inject fuel into the respective admission ducts. The second injector, at least one, is found in the tank of admission and injectables to the admission chamber. ”
These last minute details could be directly related to the “Project H2” of Kawasaki. While the registration of this series of patents was carried out in 2023, it is now when they have been officially published … chance? At the moment we cannot know, but what is more or less clear is that the Japanese brand has been considering the possibility of extending the technology of its engine with compressor to other fields where it has a presence.
Prior to this “Project H2” we have witnessed the birth of the K-Racer-X2 “a drone that lifts 200 kg using the Ninja H2R engine of 310 hp” and before this one of a previous version, the K-Racer X1. Both designed with the intention of being able to be used for logistics work, being able to transport, in an unmanned way, loads of up to 200 kg.
