After the presentation of the new 990 RC R 2026, KTM returns to the panorama of novelties with this imposing 990 RC R Track. In the words of Riaan NevelingKTM Global Marketing Director:
“The beauty of the KTM 990 RC R was the ease with which we could make just a few adjustments and have a KTM 990 RC R Track ready to hit the track. Our history and our achievements on the asphalt greatly influenced the KTM 990 RC R Track and the KTM 990 RC R range.”

KTM 990 RC R Track in detail
There is no doubt that this is a motorcycle made by and for the circuit. The lights, mirrors, side stand and other essential elements for driving on public roads have disappeared, being replaced by a configuration ready for competition. What stands out is a fairing made of injected plastic to be able to apply a personalized decoration.
The windshield is slightly higher to allow for a fully aerodynamic driving position. A rear rain light and paddock stand are also supplied as standard, while the controls and instrumentation have been simplified for track use.
The spoilers and profiles have been sculpted to obtain the best aerodynamic load and the best performance in corners, both at corner entry and in grip and stability in the acceleration phase. The fuel tank 15.7 liters and the redesigned seat (857 mm high) are key elements of sporty ergonomics, with six effective points of contact that allow the rider to move around the bike with ease, but also thinking about the attack.
In the mechanical section we have the 947 cc DOHC LC8c parallel twin engine that for the occasion increases its power up to 135 HP and 105 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm. The bike features a stainless steel Akrapovič Evolution Line exhaust system, which reduces overall weight by more than 3kg and also contributes to the EFI setup and the five levels of engine braking adjustment available.
The effect is also noticeable when changing gears with the Quickshifter+ racing gearbox with specific ratios (a longer first gear for tighter corners and powerful starts, and a shorter sixth gear). The dB limit should allow the KTM 990 RC R Track to operate on virtually any circuit.
At the suspension level we have state-of-the-art WP Apex equipment, with adjustments perfected through numerous test laps on some of the most prominent competition circuits in Europe. The 17” alloy wheels are shod in this case with 120/70-R17 and 190/55-R17 Michelin Power Slick tires for the track.
Braking is provided by separate 320 mm front discs each driven by Brembo HyPure calipers with the latest generation of 4-piston technology. Complementing the system is a 240mm rear disc, which is also geared towards sporty use and updated in terms of performance compared to the ABS-modulated component of the KTM 990 RC R.
The KTM 990 RC R Track reduces its weight by two kilos thanks to a more compact electronic system. Riders can configure their bike to get the most out of tires, power and fuel consumption, and adapt to the demands of each session through three easily customizable modes.
Likewise, the adjustable settings will allow us to modulate the throttle response, motorcycle traction control, sliding, anti-wheelie mode, launch control and engine braking. It also features a Pit Lane speed limiter, Quickshifter+ and all the necessary lap-by-lap information via a crisp 4.2-inch full-color TFT display.
The KTM 990 RC R Track was launched in 2025, coinciding with the launch of its sister model, at the same time that KTM announced the KTM 990 RC R Cup: a European championship with a six-race calendar:
