After knowing the expansion plans of Langen Motorcycles, the mandamás of the British firm has also informed us of sad news related to the new course of the brand: There will be no more motorcycles 2t. Not at least of its current model, La Langen 250, a limited series of only 100 copies, of which more than 80% of the total have already been sold. All of them to British clients, with the exception of two units that have arrived in the Japanese market and a third to a New Zealand fan.
LANGEN MOTORCYCLES appears the idea of a new 2T model
To put in context the relevance of Langen 250 2T, and how special it is, we must highlight that there are only one hundred copies of the model, all of them with an officer price that starts from approximately 36,000 euros. For those who still do not know it, it is rigorous to mention its mechanical configuration, where a bicylindrical engine in V at 90º with 249.5 cc, the work of the Italians of Vins, is capable of generating even 75 hp at 11,500 rpm.
In the EU we have not been able to enjoy this jewel of Langen Motorcycles due to the normative demands in anticontamination and safety matters that prevail within the mobility sector. Even the two specimens that came to the hands of Japanese customers had to be equipped with an ABS system to be able to be legally used and legally used on public roads.
Above all, Christofer Ratcliffe, the founder of Langen Motorcycles, has spoken in detail. This explains that: “We will never manufacture more units of the 250 two -stroke. We are limiting it to the 100. We want them to retain their value over time and not only are fantastic driving motorcycles, but also collectible ”. In addition, he explains the reasons why they have not been able to offer the model in the old continent:
“We cannot sell to Europe because there is too much bureaucracy. In Japan, there is a unique regulation for motorcycles of less than 250 cc and we are 249.5 cc. ” Likewise, he argues that in order to launch another 2T model, a engine of this type of new invoice would have to develop, adapted to the environmental demands of the moment.
Ratcliffe concludes clarifying on this topic: “If another engine was developed in the future, we would be the first in the row to try to build a motorcycle with it. Everyone dreams of doing another, but at the moment there are no immediate plans. ”
We will be attentive to possible news on the subject and the possibility that the latter could occur in the future. Let’s cross your fingers.
