That Lidl and motorcycles get along well is nothing new. For years we have followed their traditional motorcycle week, with helmets, gloves and battery chargers at knockdown prices. But it’s one thing to buy some gloves with your bread and quite another to take home a 125 cc scooter.
And that is exactly what the Lidl online store in Germany now offers.
The PRIKE XDV 125 from Lidl, in detail
The model is called PRIKE XDV 125 and appears in the motor section of Lidl.de for 3,424 euros, compared to a recommended price of 3,699 euros. Shipping must be added to that figure, the amount of which is not detailed in the form. It is offered in blue and gray, and accepts payment in installments between 3 and 24 months.
On paper, the file is very complete. Four-stroke single-cylinder with liquid cooling and electronic injection, 8.4 kW of power (about 11.4 HP), Euro 5+ approval, automatic transmission, 95 km/h maximum speed according to Lidl and a declared consumption of 2.5 l/100 km. The tank is 13.5 liters and the advertised weight is 156 kg.
Equipment includes ABS, proximity key, heated grips, tire pressure sensor, USB socket, LED lighting, digital instrumentation and center and side stands. Hydraulic telescopic fork and double rear shock absorber complete a cycle part that, if you have read our test of the Keeway Vieste 125 XDV, will sound familiar to you.
Who is behind PRIKE
It is worth clarifying: PRIKE is not a Lidl white label. It is a registered trademark of Karcher AG, a German company based in Birkenfeld that has operated since 1968 as a distributor of electronics, household goods and vehicles. PRIKE was born in 2020 and was relaunched in 2024, precisely with the XDV 125 as the first model of the new stage. Its website also includes a distributor search engine.
The similarities with the Keeway scooter are obvious: the same mechanical architecture, the same 13.5 liter tank, practically identical power, the proximity key, the tire pressure warning and a crossover aesthetic recognizable at first glance. Keeway, also present in Germany, does not sell the Vieste 125XDV in that market, which explains why the model arrives with another identity.
The Keeway Vieste 125XDV in Spain
Here the scooter is sold as Keeway Vieste 125XDV from 2,790 euros, with a 5-year warranty. Keeway claims 11.5 hp at 8,500 rpm, 10.5 Nm at 7,000 rpm, top speed of 92 km/h, 13-inch wheels with 110/70 and 130/70 tires and 240 and 220 mm disc brakes with ABS. As we see, identical characteristics.
Its price has been dropping: it started at 3,190 euros and when we tested it at the beginning of 2025 it cost 2,990 euros. Above the range is the Vieste XDV 125 EVO PRO, with inverted fork and adjustable shock absorbers.
The bills: 3,424 versus 2,790 euros
Directly comparing Lidl’s 3,424 euros with Spain’s 2,790 euros would be unfair. Germany and Spain are different markets, with different pricing structures. To put it in perspective we have looked for a model that Keeway officially sells in both countries: the naked RKF 125.
There are 609 euros difference, almost 22% more in Germany. If we apply that same differential to the Vieste 125XDV, a Keeway sold in Germany would be around 3,399 euros. Lidl’s PRIKE, at 3,424 euros, would be 25 euros more expensive. And that’s not counting shipping.
The data draws even more attention if we look at taxes. Spain applies a VAT of 21% and Germany 19%, so the difference is not explained by the treasury: without taxes, the Spanish Vieste costs about 2,306 euros and the German PRIKE for about 2,877 euros.
There is also another cost that does not appear on the Lidl label: registration. The sheet indicates that the PRIKE XDV 125 is approved for circulation, but the contents of the shipment only include the scooter and the instruction manual, without any mention of registration procedures. Everything indicates that this step, with its fees and procedures, is the responsibility of the buyer at the assigned dealership. In dealerships, on the other hand, it is increasingly common for brands to include registration in their commercial offers.
Supermarket or dealership: not everything is the sales price
If the price is practically the same, the important thing then is everything that comes after the purchase. And on an everyday scooter, that weighs a lot. A motorcycle needs periodic inspections, spare parts, consumables and, if necessary, warranty attention. Lidl’s own file refers the buyer to a specialized workshop for any spare part or replacement of parts. That is, the supermarket sells the motorcycle, but the maintenance is in the hands of others.
Keeway, on the other hand, has been in Spain for more than 20 years and has just opened new facilities in Barcelona. Its network of dealers and official workshops is the same one that sells, maintains and is responsible for the motorcycle, with a 5-year warranty. Lidl does not specify what commercial guarantee Karcher offers, beyond the legal one, nor who supports it.
Does that mean buying the PRIKE is a bad idea? Not necessarily. For a German buyer it is the only way to access this model, and behind it there is a company with its own distributors. But for the Spanish reader, the equation is clear: at the same relative price, a scooter backed by an international brand with a physical after-sales network is always a more sensible bet.
