Marc Márquez has had great rivals during his racing career, but only Jorge Lorenzo managed to beat him head-to-head in MotoGP in full form. It was in 2015, a long time has passed, but no one before or after could beat the one from Cervera when he was in his best form.
If we add to this knowledge of what was his great rival the analytical capacity and the clarity with which Lorenzo speaks, it is evident that he is not going to keep what he sees and what he thinks about Marc’s situation this season.
This is what he has done in “Dura la Vita”, the podcast that he launched a long time ago and that always has top-level collaborators such as Ramón Forcada, Rubén Xaus, Ricard Jové or Lorenzo himself, with Judith Florensa at the helm. Throughout the program they analyzed the Spanish GP and, logically, Marc’s situation could not be ignored.
At that point is where Jorge Lorenzo did not hesitate to point out Marc’s big problem. After pointing out that right now it is Bezzecchi who can lose the title more than the rest can win it, he focused on Márquez: “Because of that arm, he does not have the physical strength to push the motorcycle to the limit when braking, when entering corners, as he did before. He doesn’t want to talk about it“. To add a nuance: “Technically it is still superior, even in those conditions”.
Lorenzo also points out the differences between Aprilia and Ducati
In addition, Jorge also analyzed where the Aprilia is, a more compact motorcycle with more turning capacity than the Ducati. What’s more, using hyperbole, he said that the Ducati looked like a tractor, to later clarify that those from Noale have evolved more than those from Borgo Panigale.
In any case, Marc’s alleged problems with his arm, which come from the crash in the Indonesian GP, would be added according to Lorenzo to the demands of current MotoGP and aerodynamics.
By the way, as it could not be otherwise, Jorge and the rest of the table analyze the fall of Jerez and they do so from a point of view that, as usual, is very worth listening to. And Lorenzo, Xaus, Forcada and Jové have their opinion about it and no, they do not consider that the wind was decisive…
