The MotoGP season is being clearly dominated by Marc Márquez, but this weekend in the San Marino GP the Spanish has seen as an intractable Marco Bezzecchi with the Aprilia was tremendously competitive. So much so that both give us a spectacular battle.
After the San Marino GP there are several things that are clear and that is that the championship can only win it or Marc or Álex for mathematical issues and that for those same issues, it is most likely that Marc leaves the next GP in Japan with the title under the arm.
Bezzecchi shines with his own light, Marc falls
There is no doubt that the two protagonists of the San Marino GP have been, as we said, Marc Márquez and Marco Bezzecchi. The Italian has carried out his most complete GP and that implies doing pole on Saturday and then fighting from the beginning to overcome both the Sprint and the GP.

In the Marco race, it was strengthened in the first position with Marc surpassing Quartararo and Álex to put a wheel of the Pilot of Aprilia, who only lost the leadership of the race for a few meters when Márquez surpassed him during the Vuelta six to go to the ground only a few curves later.
An error of the Spanish that left the victory of the Sprint to a superb Bezzecchi with Álex Márquez Segundo who did not throw the towel and a Fabio Di Giannantonio who recovered positions thanks to the falls of Marc de Quartararo himself. Franco Morbidelli crossed Meta fourth leaving behind a Pedro Acosta who closed the Top5.
Marc took the rematch in the San Marino GP and now looks at Japan
Although Marc’s fall on Saturday could make Victoria’s possibilities for the championship by not winning Álex mathematically, the title could be decided in Japan, regardless of what happened in the San Marino GP race. Perhaps that is why, and despite what happened on Saturday, Marc was shown again in the first meters of the race to place second after Bezzecchi.
But there was an important difference and it is that Bezzecchi consolidated himself as a solid leader and Marc had to play his cards as well as possible to prevent the Aprilia pilot from escaping but without risking as much as to go back to the ground. So between the two they started a strip and loosen that did not end until the checkered flag fell, but in which there was only one overtaking, the one that Marc a Marco during the Vuelta 12 after the Italian was long in the braking of the countermeps.
The pressure of having the best weighs and much 🫢👑
If you have Marc you can’t fail … and Bezzecchi failed 👀 @Marcmarquez93 He is a leader in Misano#Sanmarinogp 🇸🇲 #Motogp 🏁 pic.twitter.com/a2qvl5focj

From that moment on it was Marc who began to lead, but the fight for the times, almost as if it were a chrono, did not stop. If Marc attacked, Marco answered and if it was the other way around, then the opposite. Thus, back after return, they left Álex Márquez totally off and without options to Victoria in one of the races in which more differences between the first two and the rest we have seen this season.
In the end Marc took the cat to the water, with a second to half a second and with Álex third and to 7.7 seconds. A result that will allow Marc to win the championship in Japan if throughout the weekend he adds three more points than his brother and a result that also allowed to overcome the record of points added in a MotoGP season even though 6 GP still remains ahead.
A sample of Marc’s domain and regularity and a reminder that Bezzecchi has been pushing by force and can opt for not only to the third position of the general that continues to occupy Bagnaia, but that Marco has 8 points but mathematically to the subtitle although in this case Álex is more than 100.
Outside the podium, but in a solid weekend Morbidelli ended, just ahead of his partner Di Giannantonio. Aldeguer, tracing in the final part of the race, crossed a sixth goal ahead of Luca Marini, Fabio Quartaro, Miguel Oliveira and Brad Binder who closed the Top10.
Pedro Acosta stays out of the race … for the breakage of the chain of his KTM! 😳😳😳

The race was a real screening with Bastinani, Rins, Bagnaia, Acosta, Viñales and Mir being out of it and Zarco two laps after repurchaseing the march for a fall. Of course, as data we must say that the debutante Yamaha M1 V4 crossed Meta and added two points in the hands of Augusto Fernández, although more than a minute of the winner and 30 seconds with respect to Jorge Martín, which was tenth third after having to complete two long turns.
Now the next appointment will be the Japan GP in two weeks. There Marc could achieve his seventh MotoGP and Ninth crown, adding his 125 and Moto2 titles, enlarging his legend and completing what many consider a successful return after their 2020 lesion.
