The 12+1 edition of the Rodibook Rutas salvajes del Pirineo has once again exceeded all expectations. The non-competitive motorcycle event par excellence of the Iberian Peninsula has reached a record attendance with more than 1,400 participants and 53 companionswho have passed through the most impressive places in the Catalan and French Pyrenees.
On August 30 and 31, those registered for the Off-Road (Rookie and Pro) categories travelled between 270 and 400 kilometres, while those who opted for the road routes (Rookie and Pro) covered between 450 and 750 kilometres. As is usual in this adventure and exploration experience, the route was kept secret until the evening of August 29, a few hours before the start of the route, when the roadbook was given to the event participants.
Rodibook 2024: A new success for the history of the event
Jordi Estevethe soul of Rodibook, commented: “It is a source of pride to see how the project continues to grow year after year. In June we began to see the great appetite for this edition, after 80% of the registrations sold out in less than a minute. In fact, nearly 300 people were left on the waiting list and unfortunately were unable to participate. The motivation of the participants and the involvement of the volunteers make Rodibook the reference event for all motorcycle lovers.”
The motorcycling activity has significantly boosted the tourist and hotel activity in Vielha, which has hosted participants from different autonomous communities, especially Catalonia, Madrid, the Valencian Community, Andalusia and the Basque Country. The mayor of Vielha, Juan Antonio Serrano, praised the work of all the volunteers and of Rodi Motor Services, the promoter of the event: “I would like to emphasise the great effort and work that has been put in over the years. I would like to thank all those who collaborate in the organisation and make this great event possible, which puts Vielha on the map every year.”
In addition, the organization highlights its commitment and respect for the local community by dedicating €10 from each registration to charitable projects channeled through different entities. This year, €15,000 has been donated to various projects of social inclusion, conservation of cultural heritage and reforestation and environmental recovery actions.
The 12+1 edition of the Rodibook Wild Routes of the Pyrenees has also had the special participation of great ambassadors of the motorcycling world. For example, Joan Pedrero, Kirian Mirabet, Gerard Farrés, Iván Cervantes and Isaac Feliu and top-level influencers such as Charly Sinewan, Jaime Lozano from Goats on Wheels, Majes on a Motorcycle and Majesina on a Motorcycle, and Mario Garrido and María Santiuste from Travelling with Mabre.
In the 12+1 edition of Rodibook, 55 women participated, doing both road and off-road routes. On the other hand, this edition of Rodibook had the help of 75 volunteers.
