The family XLine of Zero takes a new step in its evolution. The American firm has announced a collaboration with Sirris Suspension to develop new specific suspension systems for XB and XEits 2 light electric models that now expand their possibilities of use off-road with more sophisticated and fully adjustable components.
This initiative responds to an increasingly common demand among users of electric field motorcycles: to obtain more precise and configurable behavior that allows better use of the potential of this type of motorcycles.
Furthermore, the collaboration between both firms is not limited to a simple aftermarket improvement. They have worked together since the development phase to create suspensions specifically designed around the dynamic particularities of light electric motorcycles, taking into account factors such as instantaneous torque delivery, mass distribution or the behavior of a e-moto.
Zero XB 2027
The first beneficiary is the Zero XBwhich receives the new fork Sirris F43 CMX. Compared to a conventional fork, this system relies on a more advanced and sealed internal architecture, designed to maintain more stable and consistent operation in different conditions of use.
The objective is clear: «offer greater absorption capacity, more control on uneven terrain and a more precise response both in off-road driving and in more dynamic use«. The base configuration uses springs of 3.6/3.2 N/mm, although the platform allows multiple adjustment possibilities, with ranges that reach up to 5.8 N/mm and the possibility of combining different settings between both bars.
In practice, this allows the suspension to be adapted to the weight of the rider, the type of terrain and even the driving style, going from a more comfortable and progressive behavior to a clearly more aggressive response focused on sporty driving on dirt.
One of the most interesting points is that the installation maintains the philosophy plug and play. The set has been designed specifically for the XB and takes advantage of original anchors and components, avoiding structural modifications or changes in wheels, brakes or geometries.
Zero XE 2027
In the case of the Zero XEthe leap is even more ambitious. Here not only a new fork is incorporated, but a complete assembly made up of the F43 front and rear shock absorber R46. The system has been developed to improve the general balance of the motorcycle on trail routes and demanding off-road driving, seeking a more stable response when the terrain becomes complicated.
The standard configuration combines 4.4/4.0 N/mm fork settings and a 105 N/mm rear spring, a setup designed to offer a balance between comfort, precision and traction. For those looking for a more radical approach, there is also a competition-oriented configuration. In this case, there are front springs of up to 4.8/4.4 N/mm, greater oil volume and a rear shock absorber with a 115 N/mm spring designed to withstand more intense and aggressive use.
Thus, beyond the hardware, the philosophy of Sirris revolves around personalization. Both in the XB as in the XEthe new suspensions allow complete adjustments of compression, rebound, preload and spring hardness, something especially relevant in electric motorcycles where small variations can significantly modify the dynamic behavior.
The rear shock absorber XE It supports configurations between 75 and 115 N/mm, allowing the motorcycle to be adapted to different rider weights, riding styles or even battery configurations. According to Sirristhe objective is to create a sufficiently versatile base for trail and off-road, but leaving room for each user to fine-tune the set to suit them without resorting to complex modifications.
Coinciding with the 20th anniversary of the factory, this collaboration reinforces the idea that light electric motorcycles are no longer considered solely as recreational or entry-level vehicles, but as platforms capable of offering a level of performance and specialization comparable to that of many combustion motorcycles focused on off-road. Be careful, from now on, the new suspension systems are now available at the official dealers of the Californian brand.
