When last April 2024 we met the new project in which Allen Millyard embarks, the iconic Norton Nemesis V8 is launched, nobody had the slightest doubt that before or later we would see the legendary British Superbike at some local clue. As Millyard himself explained at his YouTube channel:
“I already worked on the motorcycle last year for the engine to work after some rudimentary reviews, new oil and batteries for the” The Motorcycle Show “series of Henry Cole, where Henry drove it during some miles up to 50 mph, but it didn’t work very well and lost a lot of oil and refrigerant.”
The Norton Nemesis V8 resurrects from its long lethargy
Now, thanks to MCN’s companions, we have known the first impressions of how the V8 nemesis is going, after its deep restoration, once it was first tested in a private airfield in the area.
Before the test, Allen commented: “I feel privileged that this unique motorcycle has entrusted me. In the end, I do all the work in the garage of my house. I really appreciate and thank James Hewing, director of the National Museum of Motorcycles and owner of the Nemesis, for this opportunity. ”
After more than 18 months of work, the iconic British concept surprised by the linear of its operation, despite the fact that the gearbox felt something imprecise in its transitions. The sound emitted by the two escape outlets located under the hill rumbled around the location chosen to immortalize the moment, giving given the refined that is currently the mechanics of the Nemesis V8.
“Fans of the YouTube channel by Allen Millyard will already be aware of the thorough process that involves taking the bicycle to this point, since it has created 17 videos that detail the amount of work that you have done so far”they clarify from MCN. Regarding the works carried on the engine, Millyard comments:
“Manufacturing and installing the humid cylinder shirts was a challenge. You just have an opportunity to install them with the special o -ring that I did, and you will not know if they have been installed correctly until the engine starts and you try it.” The famous English engineer has also installed a greater flow pump from a deep European bread, which for now performs its function efficiently.
Norton Nemesis V8 in search of a new world record
It will be at the end of next summer when the symbiosis Nemesis V8 and the multifaceted Henry Cole, will seek to beat a new speed record, associated with a motorcycle with such a mechanics, in the Elvington aerodrome, in Yorkshire. The objective is to overcome the previous brand established by Glenn Curtiss in 1907 with a V8 mount manufactured by it for that event. Curtiss would achieve its goal by marking a record of no less than 219 km/h …
Will V8 nemesis achieve it? We will tell you all the details after the test.
