Norton returns with the 206 HP Manx R V4 and its trail Atlas

After five years of hard work and an investment of more than £200 million, Norton Motorcycles is coming back strong. It does so with four new models of which we already know the main aspects of two of them: Manx and Manx R. Later the Atlas and Atlas GTin the words of Richard Arnold, Executive Director of the brand, after its launch at EICMA 2025:

“Norton is a proudly British brand based in the UK for design, development and engineering, and through TVS Motor, now has a platform for a global manufacturing and distribution network. Our resurgence will mark the strategic transformation of one of the world’s most prestigious motorcycle brands, a brand that is not bound by its past, but rather projects it into the future with a clear vision of its role and position in the global motorcycle sector.”

Norton Motorcycles 2026 Range: What We Know

There are not many details that have been offered so far about Norton’s new and long-awaited 2026 range. In any case, we know that there will be four initial models that will make it up. According to Arnold himself “The fundamentals that form the basis of what we call the Norton essence are design, detail and dynamics. Each element must be balanced with the others to achieve that optimal level of performance, whether in the dynamics of the Manx or the touring capabilities of the Atlas.”

Regarding the Manx R, the British firm states that “Boldly redefines performance, luxury and excitement on two wheels. Designed for the road and engineered to deliver thrilling real-world dynamics with impeccable precision. With class-leading explosive torque, adaptive intelligence and handcrafted British design, the Manx R delivers a connected, agile and exhilarating riding experience. It’s not just a motorcycle, it’s a modern vision of what riding a motorcycle should be.”

For its part, the naked variant of the model, the Manx, “epitomizes performance, born from the same design philosophy as the Manx R, reinvented for the street. It embodies the same engineering integrity and visceral energy to evoke intense emotions. With its upright ergonomics, forceful power delivery and minimalist design, it is built not just to go fast, but to thrill deeply. Unpretentious performance. Every detail has a purpose, every ride is an immersive experience. From its intuitive electronics to its refined ergonomics, the Manx is designed to thrill at any speed and in any environment.”

From the Norton Atlas it states that “It represents a fusion of ruggedness and capability with a modern design, created to enhance everyday exploration and enable extraordinary adventures. Combining its lightweight chassis with a flexible, fast-responsive engine, and complemented by an advanced electronic system, the Atlas instills confidence on any terrain, empowering the pilot to push forward to the next challenge.” This uses radial type rims and mixed tires.

Finally, regarding the Atlas GT, with 17” alloy wheels and road tires, in the words of the British brand “It embodies the perfect combination of on-road versatility and sophisticated design, created to be the ideal companion for both daily commutes and the most epic routes. With its agile chassis and light alloy wheels, a characterful engine and advanced electronics, the Atlas GT inspires its rider to take on any adventure: highways, sweeping curves and the urban jungle are conquered with ease.”

Norton Manx R 2026

The one for which there is official data is the exclusive and technological Manx R 2026, which arrives as the first of the six new models planned by the brand in this first stage. A latest generation superbike that among its main features we can highlight:

  • Brand new 1200cc 72 degree V4 engine
  • Semi-active Marzocchi suspension
  • Brembo Hypure brakes
  • Lower exhaust
  • Single-sided swingarm
  • Carbon fiber body panels and wheels
  • Advanced LED lighting
  • 8-inch TFT touchscreen instrument panel

Nevijo ManceCEO of Norton Motorcycles, says: “This is no improvement: the Manx R’s V4 engine is all-new, a powerful and punchy engine specifically developed with a rev range that breathes life into any road. Thanks to exceptional torque delivery, the V4 is designed for the real world, delivering torque where and when it’s needed most.”

The new 1,200 cc V4 engine of the Manx R is one of the largest displacement in the super sports car segment. With a power of 206 HP at 11,500 rpm and 130 Nm of maximum torque at 9,000 revolutionsthis liquid-cooled, 72-degree light alloy powerplant has been meticulously developed to deliver strong mid-range torque. The Manx R offers a power-to-weight ratio of 1 HP per kg.

The block is mated to a six-speed constant-gear transmission, which features a slipper clutch and sophisticated electronic quick-shift and rev-matching systems to ensure smooth upshifts and downshifts. Short gear ratios, along with an intentionally longer-than-normal final drive ratio of 2.41:1, ensure the rider is always in the right gear.

The result is explosive acceleration below 11,000 rpm. This performance has been achieved, in part, thanks to a system ride-by-wire complete engine that operates independently on the front and rear cylinder banks for total control and throttle response. Five riding modes (Rain, Road, Sport and two customizable track profiles) ensure that riders can make the most of the performance available in any weather condition.

For the cycle part, the Manx R incorporates one developed jointly with Marzocchi. Using real-time sensors, the system instantly adjusts compression and rebound damping separately, both front and rear. The Manx R’s five selectable riding modes allow the rider to choose on the fly between radically different suspension characteristics: from plush comfort for long journeys to precise control for maximum track performance.

Another advantage of the advanced sensors is their ability to monitor and react instantly to changes in attitude, which contributes to the Manx R’s weight balance at any speed without the need for additional aerodynamic elements.
In terms of braking, Brembo’s new HYPURE high-performance brake caliper system makes its Norton debut on the Manx R.

With unrivaled performance, these lightweight, racing-inspired monobloc calipers have been designed to deliver tireless braking at any speed and in any condition. Made from aluminum alloy, their asymmetrical design contributes to sophisticated heat dissipation, while residual torque is minimized thanks to a patented spring, pad and pin system.

The radially mounted front calipers act on two 330 mm floating discs, while the rear has a single 245 mm disc. The HYPURE braking system has been meticulously tuned to work in perfect sync with the Manx R’s advanced lean-sensitive ABS, constantly adjusting brake pressure based on lean angle, acceleration and motorcycle speed to maintain traction and stability when cornering.

The Manx R comes equipped with 17-inch BST carbon fiber wheels and Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa V4SP tires: 120/70 front and 200/55 rear. On an electronic level, the brand’s close collaboration with Bosch, and its advanced 10.3-inch electronic platform, results in safety and assistance systems calibrated not only for exceptional performance, but also to offer nuances and personality.
