Rocket 400, the pitbike that went from toy to untamed monster. 10 times more power and 0 logic

Preparing a pitbike is something that was very fashionable almost 20 years ago and that, in fact, laid the foundations for what we have today as a pitbike on many karting circuits. Small and more or less affordable motorcycles to have fun with, until the modifications begin and they become real missiles.

But the pitbike that we are going to talk to you about and its preparation is not that they are designed to compete, far from it, it is designed for… Well, the truth is that we do not know what it is designed for, nor what can happen to you. head to turn a harmless Kawasaki K75 into a true “widowmaker”.

And it is that from being a small and quiet pitbike that Kawasaki manufactured in the ’70s, and that had a small 75 cubic centimeter, two-stroke and about four HP engine, by converting it into the Rocket 400 they have multiplied its performance tenfold. power. And what they have done is mount the engine from another Kawasaki, but in this case from the KH400.

It is also a motorcycle from the seventies and the engine is also two-stroke. But that’s where all the similarities end, because we are talking about a three-cylinder that was close to forty horsepower with five gears to get the most out of the power it offered, and that launched the KH400 above 160 kilometers per hour.

Would you get on this small but devilish pitbike?

Now imagine getting on a motorcycle that is almost a toy and that, without a doubt, was born to compete with the Honda Monkey. But instead of an engine that has almost the same power as you, you find yourself with so much power that even accelerating and despite how short it is, it rises.

A curious mini-beast that, we will not deny it, seems fun. Of course, one thing is that it seems fun and another very different thing is that it seems like a good idea to get on it and open the gas without consideration.

If that engine was capable of carrying such a large and comparatively heavy motorcycle up to the 160 barrier, the question remains as to how far the Rocket 400 could go, although at more than 30 kilometers per hour it already sounds reckless…
