Just a few days ago, the RFME presented the team that will make up the Spanish team that will represent us in the Motocross of Nations (MXON) 2024. These are the chosen ones who will compete in England, October 4-6, Matterley Basin:
- Jorge Prado (MXGP)
- Ruben Fernandez (Open)
- Oriol Oliver (MX2)
Motocross of Nations 2024: A tough challenge ahead
Once again we will have a top captain, world champion Jorge Prado, undoubtedly the best Spanish rider in the history of his discipline. Alongside him and on another 450 will be Rubén Fernández, who has recovered from his knee injury as he demonstrated by leading the qualifying round last weekend in Switzerland, and who will take advantage of these three remaining races to improve his racing pace.
Finally, in the smaller MX2 category, it will once again be Oriol Oliver who will fight for the top positions. Paco RicoNational MX Coach has commented after the presentation of the team that will compete in the Motocross of Nations 2024: “It is clear that, given the level of our international riders, the two 450 spots would be occupied by Rubén Fernández, who has now recovered from his injury, and of course, without a doubt, the current world champion Jorge Prado as captain of the Spanish team in MXGP.”
And continues: “In MX2, Guillem Farrés will be unavailable again due to injury and this year Oriol Oliver will once again be defending the colours of Spain, after proving that he is ready for the occasion following his good season. David Braceras will be our reserve rider in MX2 and José Antonio Butrón in the MXGP/Open categories.”
Concludes: “With this team we have the desire and the excitement to once again compete head to head with the best countries in the world, to try to raise the Spanish flag as high as possible and to make all the Spanish fans enjoy this beautiful and special race that is experienced in such a different way to the rest.”
